Okay, When the newschoolers site was just starting up, it was an undiscovered haven for misunderstood 'newschoolers', if you will, to express their feelings to each other over the interweb. At first, the sites atmosphere was that of a 3rd grade slumber party. No one judged any one else, they were just glad that they had found refuge amongst their likes. As the site has progressed and the number of members has increased, that same old stoke that was once around has been lost, maybe even for ever. Today its kids just bitching about who the best skier is, what the best companies are, and how many posts you have. Have we lost the appreciation for what we all have in common? For the most part, the answer is yes. Its no longer your skiing that can establish your cred, its the number of your posts. People must think that if your posts are in the thousands, your a total badass. And if your posts are in the tens of thousands, your are a god. Maybe this means you have a lot to say, but what are your really trying to tell us? That joeshmo48 is a newb? My main example that shows how the brotherhood between fellow hucksters has been lost is the number of non-skiing posts. This is a ski site for christ sakes, if you want to go and bitch about your meaningless lives, go talk to big All at www.gayanal.com/forum/bigall. This site was designed to be a safe-haven for all of us misunderstood helians. If we want our sport to stay true and not sell out and become a mainsteam, corporate ruled, cash crop, we need to unite. No more of this, johhnytsunami234 is a total noob, let his post number speek for him. Keep it real. And thas my shpeal. So remeber, United we stand, Divided we fall.

i think most sites like this are all doomed to the same fate, i wasnt a member of this site to knwo the 'good ol' times' but i was a member of another site which the exact same thing happened. It started out as a really awsome place with everyone just being nice and no one shitting on one-another, but as the sport (biking) grew in our area more people joined and more people decided that they didnt like what the other persone was saying so began the fighting, bitching, post count wars and so on. As for the whole post conting thing i say get rid of it, thats what this other site did and i guess you could say it helped.

but your right, i've only been on here a year, but it seems like skiing would be something to do coz you love it... but now, it might turn into something like snowboarding or even skateboarding, where everyone does it just coz it will make them feel like they are cool.

i miss the days when it was a flash site :-( then the new site came and it was cool and i finaly got a name! original member # 790 (i think) no shit talking was the best, now i'm confinded to ski gabber and ski equipment because of the amount of ignorance on this site even the ski gabber has had its downfall to a point. i miss harvey and the site going down every few weeks. :-(

well....I've been here since 2000 or some shit. that's like 4 years bitches. I live in SUmmit CO now, with Keystone, Breck, Vail, ABasin, Beaver Creek all within an hr. I got a free pass to all those places. I live with my hot girlfriend so my rent is cheap, bow down and suck my huge fat penis NOW!

 
Again, it is a ski site and it has had it's benefits such as helping some through life and hooking fellow skiers up at local resorts so in a way helped with bonding us skiers together. But if this site does go downhill forcing people to leave just because of how bad it has gotten, don't get too attached, again it is just a ski website.

I don't remember a time back when there was no shit talking, that's practically impossible. But back when I first came on this site (member #7000something) there were still shit talkers but they were rare. Now everyone thinks it's cool to start up a new NS account with a name like 'poopoo' and go around bashing random people. It's lame but there's not much you can do to fix it. I usually just hang around in the cults when I come to this site, because to be frank it's embarassing to say that I'm a member of newschoolers thanks to the little shits on here that give it a bad rep.
