Your favorite ski company

4FRNT. Not only because of dope skis, but also because of a dope warrenty. I'm getting a free pair of STL's on warrenty because of the edge is separating from the sidewall.
 
any one else ever realize how much shit salomon makes. its fuckin crazy. they've got skis, boots, poles, bindings, clothes, goggles, helmets, golves, they pretty much have the whole sport of skiing and snowboarding covered. I ride 4frnt and i like em alot but id have to say salomon right now.
 
do you get the warranty on the site or from the shop you bought it from? give me the info. i mean the skiis are good but the top sheets suck. they were chippin and peelin the first day.
 
LINE. always my favorite company, and ive always felt they pushed skiing in the right direction. while they had some hard times and have had some CRAPPY skis throu the past few years, they are an awesome company. Levinthal is the man, and next years skis are lookin epic.

as far as quality skis, id say (no order):

Dynastar

K2

Salomon

4frnt

fischer

but as far as taking the sport in the right direction, line is by far the most active and important. i defiantly see them as a burton of the ski world, but not the burton of today, thats just a massive, sell out coorperation. maybe the burton of 15 years ago.
 
Thats so true, companies with roots in race skis know how to make bombproof construction, but they are slower on the innovations, but they make reliably tough skis.

Line is good because they were one of the original independent companies, and they have some of the most innovative ideas, like different core materials. Armada and 4frnt have good, relable skis though, and good services.
 
except solomon stuff sucks and falls apart within the first week.

im going with Volkl, because my dads a rep for them and i get free skis every once and a while. that and they made lots of good skis that dont fall apart.
 
i would love to see an example of a salomon ski that just "fell apart"

fav right now is armada, but i like rossi quite a bit as well

My favourite skis are from the companies that were the "Core" ski only companies of the past. Rossignol, Dynastar and Atomic. They have the history and experience to create the best skis. This is why their race skis (skis which push technology to the limit) are the best by far.

Salomon are a binding company. They dont have the technology of the big three to create skis at as good a quality.

New companies like Line and Armada are OK but they dont have the build quality of scratches.

-after that Rossignol ->they've been in the business since straight skis were the norm. I think my neighbor has rossi 70's Xcountry skis in her garage. Thats alot of experience
 
It's from the shop. And you dont get new sticks cuz of the topsheet chips, gosh. My have chips as well, lots of chips. But that is 100% normal when you buy a sidewall ski.
 
Salomon have never been a dedicated ski company. People on Salomon skis in the 90s had the piss taken out of them for having Mickey Mouse skis cos they were so shit.
 
Dynastar..got TMs as my first twintip to start riding park and they've handled a beating learning curve for the past year better then i could've hoped.

hopefuly getting armadas, lines, or 4frnts for next year

What i don't understand is how you can have favorite one year and switch the next.
 
yeah, agreed but i dont like how stiff most of their skis are, but my Mt's are bombproof.

But i like rossi a little bit, but K2 is dope
 
You can't be more wrong about Salomon...

Salomon: invented medal edges on skis - that's pretty core to me!

And not quite just a binding company. It's a company that invented twin tips (1080), invented freeskiing (xscream series), freestyle boots - 1080 and spk... and the list goes on.

Salomon is clearly my favorite company... So I'm biased but I really thing that many of you just have a hate on for no good reason.

Especially next year. The 08 Salomon ski line is kick ass. It has something for everyone. On top of that, there's more woodcores and the graphics are all super rad.

I like Salomon cause that you like them or not, they are always pushing the sports, they are always involved in grassroots of skiing.
