I hate all gaper kids who sit on landings.

So many people complain about gapers and it's really simple to fix. You can literally ski up to them and explain them the dangers of standing on the landings and the dangers of hanging around a terrain park when you don't know whats going on. I see so many people yelling/screaming at gapers and complaining about them. Seriously, if we(as park skiers) could just be calm and fucking nice to people on the hill maybe shit wouldn't be so bad. Maybe there wouldn't be as many collisions/altercations if more of us could stand up and nicely explain to these people whats up. They aren't doing it to be dicks, they simply don't understand and people who just scream at them are never going to get their points across.

The expense. I know people gripe a lot about this. But it's hard for more people to get into the sport because it's so expensive. And often people won't know a if its a deal or if they're getting ripped off so they end up buying it anyways.

So lower prices and more informed gapers.

I FUCKING HAAATE SUMMER. AND I HATE THAT PEOPLE LOVE SUMMER BECAUSE I FUCKING HAAAATE SUMMER.

You need to get better boots.

Honestly I don't have much of a problem with the cost of skiing. I can find most of the stuff relatively cheap on amazon or ebay - including fitted boots.

The main problem I have is the drive in the morning. Even though it is only an hour and a half, you have to get up so early if you want a somewhat decent parking space. And when resorts have big ass parking lots, that just kills me inside.

If every park rat here explained to one kid once a day while skiing that you cant sit in the landing, we wouldn't have anyone sitting in the landing.

Educate parents not just kids, but I agree. Half the time it's the parents standing on the landing taking a family photo or some shit.

I just deleted 95% of my post because i'm sure no one here wants to read a 3 paragraph rant about this. Bottom line, parents need to know the dangers of park flow and etiquette and enforce this with their kids. The problem is, parents get defensive when you politely remind them... fuck em. i'll just land on your kid then.

When there is 6 inches of snow on the ground and people say we have way to much snow, people who say they hate winter, and not having a ride to the mountain

The negativity towards anyone who is a beginner to intermediate.

This. I've got a bit of a soft spot for those learning and it's really sad in my opinion to see this negativity. They're out there for the same reasons we are, they just aren't as experienced but we all started somewhere. Instead of being negative pieces of shit towards gapers, maybe we should help them out. If they fall, help them up. Or give them a few tips on how to ski better. Honestly, just a little bit of encouragement could really make a difference and I think it's worth it to take a few damn minutes to help someone out. Being hostile towards new skiers is just fucking stupid.

When I tell an adult to not cut me off in the park and they get pissed at me

Kids who complain about winter, bitch Im sweating my balls off in my basement, fuck summer.

The never ending fight between us park rats and racers, where is the luv?

Skiing at a shitty mountain every weekend, soon to change.

Rails. I fucking hate rails and how hard they were to get the hang of and i still can barely slide them all the way.

All i wanna do is haul ass thru the park and do lip on blind 2s on everything. Is that too much to ask?

Other than that i have no issues at all really

really not a fan of talking to jamooks on the chair. just wanna have a nice conversation with fellow skiers and snowboarders, see if people are stoked, and carry one with the day. definitely don't let stoke killers ruin the day, but I really prefer not to share a chair with elitist douches, snow snobs, one-uppers (come across a lot of middle-aged ones at snowbird, have to one up EVERYTHING you say), racer parents because I do not give a fuck how good your kid is, what program they race for, or what they placed, and that's pretty much it.

I guess as long as we maintain a mutual respect, all is good. but ive definitely picked up a few "go fuck yourself" vibes from people after just trying to shoot shit in the breeze with them, you're fuckin cancer to the mountain if you're like that, we really don't need your money to run our towns/resorts in the first place.

I can get them fitted in the shop then buy them online for cheap...

That kind of fucks over your boot fitter though. They helped you out with your boots. They took the time to get you fitted and everything. You should think about helping them out by paying a little more for that service.

I'm not saying I do that, but it's an alternative way to cut down on the cost of skiing.

and then you are forced to pay $200 for the punching, grinding etc once you bring them into the shop. If you had just bought them in the shop youd get all that for free.

Not to mention, you would be the asshole who just uses people. What you are suggesting is theft of service.

i've honestly never seen this at my hill, maybe it's because i live in canada idk. i'll sometimes see it if it's some douchey snowboarder vs. skier kid but never older skier kid vs. a youngling. i mean if they eat shit and they're not hurt people laugh but that happens to everyone, regardless of age or what's under your feet.

the people that just pizza from one side of the trail to the other and then when you try to go past them they give you a dirty look. Kinda like those old ladies in cars that drive 10 mph and give u dirty looks when you pass them

Well, mainly I'm talking about on newschoolers. I've just noticed that when you see noobs posting videos of anything from their first 360 all the way up to cork 7s or bigger, instead of getting encouragement, as often as not they are ridiculed.

I also went to a rail jam when I was first getting into skiing about 4 years ago, I could hardly even ski park and was a straight up gaper, I tried talking to a few people but they were just assholes, and I probably would have had a miserable time but this one older skier there who was clearly the best and was killing it and this snowboarded struck up a conversation with me and the skier coached me a bit. I ended up having a great time and later learned that the guy was Brandon Becker, a local legend and sorta pro. Since then though I still have only met 2 more local park skiers that weren't dicks.

actually yes i have seen this and it's quite often on ns and it does bug me quite a bit.

You'll never have boots that fit properly without a custom footbed and it's usually cheaper to buy boots + footbeds as a package than buy boots online and then get footbeds separately.

Also it's a dick move to waste a boot fitters time like that.

I don't see either of these to often. It happens but not as much as a couple years ago. People still do criticize but also offer tips in the same posts.

At the hill i think it happens even less. Some of the better riders at my mountain instruct. One of my friends are in this situation and kids that aren't that good see him when he is not working and will still ask for help. I never see anyone talking about these guys as thwy are always out there trying to learn. I think its the kids that aren't that good but act like they are that get the hate. They just go out and don't do anything. They don't learn any park etiquette and when someone tries to help them they just act like they are better than that person. They almost always get hate because all they do is hate on others.

We are controlled by the weather and the climate, and yet most people don't even have the most basic understanding of those things and seem to think it may not even be real.

This whole thing about a mini ice age in 2030 is a great example. Solar activity has a nearly negligible effect on climate. What actually matters is tilt, distance from the sun and in what season we are closest to the sun: declination, eccentricity and longitude of perihelion. Thus this whole thing is basically hype bullshit.

Also the people who bitch about forecasts just don't know how to read and interpret them.

I hate having a really good day and being the best kid on my local hill and then some little kid comes and just slays. Its embarassing and motivation at the same time

I've noticed how it's gotten better too. I was looking at some of Andy Parrys photos on here from 8 years ago or so and the amount of hate on them were ridiculous. But I haven't seen as much of it lately

YOu have to look on the brightside, the more expensive the less people on the hill.

I guess the worse is when i'm stoked for skiing in summer and no one around skis. All my friends are like "duuude it's sunny, it's hot, life is goooood holidaaaaays, comon, enjoy yourself!"

Bitch do you know what ski deprivation is? I don't need you to remind me that it's so damn hot even the snow in my ski dreams melt. And what fucker thought he'd make the end of academic year in summer anyways. Imagine skiing for 2 months straight...And no surfing is not like skiing fuck off I want some goddam snow.
