nah, if you check my flickr there's an explanation. Its more or less about renewing some pride in being American during the 2010 olympics here in vancouver after years of not exactly being stoked to be from the US of A.

i agree. it looks like the pictures them selves aren't bad. you probably have good colors even without blowing out the levels/contrast

I'd agree, those shots look like they'd be better without the editing. the first one might even be a keeper- imo, the fake blur ruins the shot, especially the way it's done. just not very believable. I'd go back to the original shot, move the levels so there is just a little more contrast in the snow, and color balance without overkilling it. It looks like a good composition, though, if I remember since clicking "reply"...

^ agreed. The First one looks like it could be pimpin. Remember that editing should only enhance an already good photo even though its tempting to try and save a shot in photoshop

these are actually really nice once you click em. Wish there were some deeper blacks in em though but it could just be my monitor.

one of my favorite shots in this thread... reminds me of the ikea shot of the zebra that you see in every yuppie's apartment

very cool, but put him in lighter colored clothes next time. it would pop him out better.i like though. cool fender too

thanks, it was one of those moments where all the tones show up perfect and the focus happens to be spot on.

Challenge!

For your next few, take that lens off, your getting great shots, but Id like to see it mixed up a bit.

I was wondering when someone was gonna call me on that. Here's the problem: My kit lens is broken (drunk people, long story, it was a piece of shit anyways). The 100mm macro I have is too much telephoto to be carrying around (with the crop sensor it becomes a 160mm which is downright absurd for the walking around shots I've been taking), so the 15mm fisheye (aka 24mm wide angle with crop) is all I have right now (used to have a 70-300 but I hated it and sold it). The distortion from the fisheye is getting irritating and redundant, I admit, but all these shots have just been me living my life and keeping the only lens i have strapped on. I'm supposed to get my greasy mits on a friend of an exgirlfriend's 50mm f/1.8 for the next few days but you can see perhaps where the dilemma is in that. Anyone wanna exchange glass? I'm down.
