Not sure what camera you're using, but if you have the ability to bump up the f/stop a stop or two, you could have. On the second photo I'm having trouble telling exactly what is in focus on the flower. Another stop would have gotten the whole flower in focus, while still keeping that nice background blur.
Hopefully this doesn't come off as mean-spirited, just trying to give some constructive criticism.

Should've I turned the aperture up more? I was trying to draw attention to the flower in front but now I think I should've just had the entire foreground in focus.

Or maybe something like this? I'm a sucker for vertical landscapes...

13705053:saskskier said:Thanks man. I agree it's a bit soft. It was my first time out with my new tripod. It's super light, but not incredibly stable. I also had it extended all the way with a longer lens (70-300), also contributing to the instability. It'll be awesome for travelling though. I have a trip to Iceland coming up, so I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing before then. Ha ha

Psyched about this one from the 4th, first time I tried getting the town into a shot
13706248:Bmo. said:edit needs work. you picked the worst time of day for a picture of that place, but it could be much better with a better edit. *not trying to be a dick*
13706331:saskskier said:I definitely know it was a bad time. Some other time I'll get up stupid early so I can be there for good light, but not this week. Either that, or I'll just wait until later in the year. Also, I've only been playing with Lightroom for a couple of weeks, so definitely still figuring stuff out.
(No worries. No dick-ishness felt. Only way to get better is input from others!)
