A few random shots with the phone while I was in Whitefish last week. Nothing special. Didn't get around to bringing the real camera out.

On an unrelated note, I just picked up an old Nikon FE2, so looking forward to start playing around with film. Should be good times, if not more frustrating and expensive than digital. Ha ha.

lets try that again.... a few shots from yesterday.

Just got Silver Key award for the first photo from the Scholastic art awards so I thought I'd post it up. Also had a chance to shoot a 100mm Canon macro lens, so theres some macro haha

Couple more from driving across the prairies over Christmas.

This is the only nice corner in the entire 650km drive between my place and my parents.

Old, abandoned farmhouse

Barbed wire fence covered in ridiculous frost.

Pretty stoked on these two.

This one is comped with a sunset shot so I could get the rocks and the blue/pink sky to go along with the light trails from the highway and the stars under no moon.

Been trying to work on my photography game while still concentrating mostly on video. Went to Carinthia yesterday and got some shots; pretty stoked on this one.

Please critique, but keep in mind 2 things. The adapter was half broken so i literally had to hold the lens pushed hard into the adapter. Also, it was snowing.

Pretty stoked on how it turned out. It was my second time ever shooting with a DSLR.

Feedback negative or positive would be nice.

I was using a canon t4i with a 55-250 lens.

I think you could have cropped the right side a bit more and the arm in front of the face is weird, other than that I think it's a really dope shot man!

Only spent a few minutes walking around Downtown Burlington in -45F wind chills to find a good photo spot but I'd say I'm happy with the turnout.

Bought a camera off NS (@connorwyckoff) and am learning how to use it.

Willing to hear some constructive criticism.

Get some kind of a foreground and background in it, really boring when it's just the skier.

Not sure what order these will show up in, but in no particular order these are a pic from the rainbow rail at keystone, a hawaiian sunset pic, a mountain goat pic from a hike, a celebration pic from the Broncos AFC championship win, and a little grab pic from keystone. All pics are mine, and all criticism is welcome.

Beware, I'm mean.

1. Good timing, Leave more room at top, don't crush the blacks.

2. Cliche, the colour is good but the composition and visual features bland and lacking.

3. Snapshit

4. Go straight from above and max. symmetry or add something in the background.

5. Don't go for center comp, I like sky/skier shots but try to work with either the background or go for clean without background, now it just crosses that line in the background,

Rule of thirds. The skier is taking up a bit too much of the picture imo. Also, some sorta background

Dream Lake Sunrise by Mike Kvackay, on Flickr

Damn, nice timing, that lake looks cool!

If it was possible, I personally would have shot the photo lower to the ice to bring out that pattern in a bit more dramatic fashion. But that might not have been an option. Just my .02!

Seriously. Would you be opposed to me painting this? You might have just broken my artists block...

i would not be opposed at all! i would love to see a painting of that scene. its easily one of the spots i frequent most around here.
