You have 18min to get STH14 Drivers for $120 NEW

Dammit. I'm gonna have to keep an eye out for them to go on sale again. I'm in Canada but i usually just get stuff like that shipped to an American UPS store near the border.

Ahhhhh they don't ship to Canada? I'm sad now because I'd be all over these and have been watching for a pair...

Curse you steep and cheap...

If you live within like 2 hours of the boarder Just ship to a post office right on the other side. Usually it's only like $5 per package, you might have 12-13% tax coming back depending how nice the person is, but if you load up on purchases it can often be well worth the drive.

We have a nearby border depot but I have no idea when I'll actually be able to make it down there since I've sill got quite a few weeks away at school... X_X

I'll figure something out though.

Yeah. The other option (thank you Jamie) is to ship to a friend in the US (often free) and pay to have them ship to you in Canada....

Depending on shipping, I may just order a set for their 30% off price on backcountry. The only thing REALLY holding me back is that I'd kind of like to hold out until next year to pick up a pair of the new STH2's for all the wide stuff I plan on building, and just keep my current STH's for raw park use.

got a pair off Backcountry dot com for 140$ new. Makes sense with their return policy...

I had them match bentgates price.

Why?

I've never seen the purpose of a wider foorprint binding. I Had 916s on a pair of Blowers and Dukes on a pair, and I didn't notice any difference in how they skied.

Seriously?

A Wider Footprint provide more purchase ( i have been using that word way too much lately) on a ski. Better/ more efficient energy transmission.

Although your probably right about not being able to tell a difference, I suspect the differences are minute.

Aha fuck yeah. We had some guy come down from the states who used the word purchase once, had no idea what he was talking about, and now I hear it everywhere, so I use it everywhere. /coolstory

Anyways yeah, my only real reasoning was for the reduced 'slop' I've heard that the guardian heel has over the traditional driver heel from many people, and many reviews; the better power transmission is just a bonus although the differences are likely negligible.

I'll probably just get a pair of STH12's here soon if I can find a way to get them across the border. For some reason most places who are selling them won't ship solly's direct into Canada. Never thought bindings would be bootleg...

Lol same here. Once I heard it a few years back, it became my go-to word so I can sound smart and technical.

Im hoping this new STH2 still has the same percentage of metal, or hopefully more, that the STH has now. Im wondering if they're getting rid of the full steel version again, after finally bringing it back, or is this new STH2 16 all steel

I have heard of reduced heel slop as well, and although I do not have a problem with slop on any of my STH drivers, any improvements will be appreciated. I just hope there still as safe, relative to proper release, as the current ones. Im sure Salomon has had these tested to perfection for a while now.
