Alright so i used to be a big fan of backcountry.com. done many orders from them before but this one is just a joke. so heres the thing.
i ordered POW STEALTH MITTENS from them about 2 weeks ago. Got the package in the mail about a week ago and they were POW TORMENTA MITTENS, so i got on their chat thing and got a return/exchange going and sent back the tormenta mittens and they said they would send me the right ones this time. Well i get another package today from them, im assuming its the right mittens but no i was wrong... they sent me the TORMENTA MITTENS...AGAIN!!!...
So i call them and im basically like wtf is this a joke. So now i have to go through the whole return process again which by the way is kind of a pain in the ass. Sorry for the rant im just pretty pissed about this whole issue. I ordered my mittens hoping that they would be here by opening day. which was last weekend but since the first order was messed i didnt get that opporotunity but now im not going to be able to use the mittens i want for the 2nd weekend of the season. its just getting a little ridiculous. I can't wait to see what the 3rd package has in store...
 
i ordered those same mitts from backcountry along with some other stuff and it was all fine for me. even got it delivered to australia in 6 days.
 
most likely. then id just cancel my order completely and ask for a refund. but then again if i asked for a refund of american dollars they'd probably send me fucking pesos knowing them
 
backcountry is a legit site, this is literally the first time i have heard anyone have problems with them

they always get my stuff right
 
thats too bad, hope it didnt ruin backcountry for you because they have probably the best return and warranty policies ive ever heard of, you can ski on a pair of their skis all year and return them at the end of the year and get full refund for them, well i think there's like two companys they dont do that for but still, so legit, sorry about your gloves
 
You can't do this anymore because people abused the privilege of their return policy to much. Thanks. It is now a 30 day return policy on all of their sites, and the item must be returned new.
 
it is kinda funny they sent you them twice. Wouldnt be funny if it was me but its funny to hear

but backcountry is the most legit site around. It might be some seasonal workers that dont know what they're doing. their Stoic brand looks amazing
 
backcountry is definitely legit. Everyone makes mistakes once in a while. It sucks when it happens to you, but maybe theyll send you a free gift?

 
False. They still have the same return policy for the regular store and outlet. They did, however,change the return policy for the steepandcheap type sites to a 30 day return policy. I love Backcountry so damn much, it's so legit it seems fake.
 
The unlimited warranty makes it way worth it to buy stuff there. It has saved me so much money from my stuff breaking and stuff.
 
eather a L or XL, comes with mitten liner, that can be removed, and yes insulation, and no not leather.
 
honestly I've never had a good experience at a local shop. At least in portland, bunch of hipsters that dont know anything about what they're selling. a couple months ago I had a guy tell me the shop couldnt mount my 120mm brakes over my 130mm skis..pretty much talked down to me the whole time over 5mm of flex in the brake. Told him to talk to the tech about it cause they'll work.

This is why i go to backcountry/evogear. They're very willing to help. know their stuff, and plus i dont have to deal with annoying salesmen who think they're the shit cause they work at a ski shop.

i agree its good to keep your money local but when you have a store with the reputation backcountry does (shipping, returns, customer service) there isnt a reason to go anywhere else.
 
I'm down for supporting my local shop when I need gear whether its bmx/ski/camping/etc. unless:

a) the shop doesn't support/carry the brands I want

b) prices are outrageous (ex: last year's Dumont's for $1100 cdn)

c) those working at said shop are dicks (people are good at mine, just kinda out of touch)

d) techs don't know what they are doing

In all other cases I agree with the SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SHOP theory!

that sucks about them screwing up twice. but you can't complain about their returns process. they have the easiest return process of any online retailer. bc.com is so good i feel bad that local shops have to compete with them. its not fair competition in anyway, except bc can't tune/mount/repair hardgoods.
 
dude they will get it right. my friend bought some ninthwards two years ago which he broke in half on his summer setup and they are refunding him full money back. only thing is he had to ship the broken skis back to them but seriously i think theyre super legit.

just ask for a STEEEEEEP discount on the gloves, over night shipping, and ALLLL shipping fees reimbursed.

they will do it
 
haha that sucks. i ordered those same mittens. they are so sick i love them!!! they're leather though so you have to take extra care of them, but i had some leather gloves that lasted 4 years!

I am the BC.com rep on NS. Sorry to hear about your problems with the order. Sometimes when this happens it is because the company, POW in this instance, sent us the Tormenta Mittens rather than what we ordered. From September through December we get so much inventory we may not catch the mistake. Hit me a P.M. with your order number and I will make sure this get fixed in our inventory as well as make sure you are compensated for the time it took for you to return the gloves twice.
