You evenutally should move on with your life and give up skiing

...if you at least have any goals or ambition. How can you honestly look at yourself and say that you'll continue the partying and drinking lifestyle? How can you waste away the weekends when you should be with your significant others or friends, trying to build relationships?

It's tough to admit, but skiing is mostly for a younger, immature crowd. At some point, we all need to grow up. Maybe most of you will do that one day.

this is going to get unpopular very quickly.

But I agree with you to an extent. You just have to find a balance eventually where you're able to ski enough but not so much that you do nothing else.

I mean, if you're passionate about it you can ski to whatever age. People will do what they want, and I wouldn't say skiing is an immature crowd. There's a lot of older people that are mature that love skiing. So fuck you.

Im not sure if OP is being a shitty troll, or just trying to be controversial for no apparent reason.

The thing is, op is right. As soon as I turn 15 im just gonna focus on school cuz I'm tryna get into a good college and im not gonna have time for skiing. It's fun now but we will all need to grow up sometime.

since when is skiing correlated with drinking and partying? most young people do both, that doesn't mean they're related. If you're feeling old and want to stop partying fine, but i have lots of friends who have real lives who continue to ski... and if you weren't such a little bitch you might make friends while skiing. All of my friends and my "significant other" ski and we spend our weekends skiing while "building relationships".

inb4 OP has no friends, no life, no money and sucks at skiing so he thinks quitting will improve his life. PUSSY

Ok fine there once was a lad named Timmy. Timmy was about 16 years old, and he just learned how to drive. But unfortunately Timmy got into a small accident a week into his driving career. His car was in the shop, and timmy was very bored. So one night, he waits until his dad falls asleep and then he decides to take his dads ice cream truck for a joyride. He is cruising around town when he sees his grandmas bridge partner,Ida. Ida was looking fucking hot after a night out on the town. So Timmy picks up ida, and next thing you know they are in a parking lot and Ida is sucking Timmy's dick with no dentures. They are lookin to fuck, but Timmy doesn't have any lube. They began to look around the ice cream truck for a suitable replacement, when Ida slips on some smuckers and breaks a hip. She was so ready to fuck Timmy that she completely ignored the pain in her hip. But they still had no lube! Then it hit her: the smuckers!!!!! Timmy and Ida had many months of slippery sex before getting married and living together off of idas dollar lottery ticket winnings And that is the legend of how smuckers became the new lube.

OP should eventually move on with his life and give up trolling. How are you ever going to have time to go skiing done when all you do is sit on NS trying to get people react to your shitty posts?

Well I'm sure in the future I won't be going 60+ times in one season but you better fucking bet I'll be skiing until my latter years in life. I can't wait to teach my kids how to ski and have them show me what the new style and park progession is like in 20 years or so...

You already posted a story a couple days ago with ida, ice cream truck, and smuckers. Be more original. I was not amused

fuck this, it is definitely possible to keep skiing a lot and also do all of the shit you said, its all about balance as some people said, but quitting skiing altogether is fucking retarded

My dad is a lawyer who skis every weekend through the end of May, takes every friday off in the summer so he can go backpacking, and was on the hill today with his best friend since preschool having been drinking until 3am reminiscing about their days ski-bumming in the 70s.

What's wrong with having it all?

No. What about some strait edge Mormon person in Utah who has a family and good job but goes to the hill to shred on his 1500 dollar season pass couple days a week? How is he immature?

If you have kids and a wife instead of taking you're dumbass kids to disney in the winter take them skiing out west and they might not end up fat.

Most of the best ski resorts in the United States don't have great nightlife at the bottom of the lifts I can't see the drinking/partying connection really. (Alta, Kirkwood, even Squaw it doesn't really pop off.)

Regular 9-5s don't leave that much time to ski. But then again there aren't many good colleges that have good skiing within an hour are there?

Its hard to get a good job close to good mountains in the US. But if you live in France, Western Canada, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria etc its much easier to get to dope ass mountains than it is for most Americans. Just because our terrain can suck (see Summit County or the entire East Coast) doesn't mean the rest of the world doesn't have the good stuff on their door step.

People grow up whenever they're ready. No one can speculate when someone else should stop partying. It's not their well being, it's not their problem.

It's like telling someone to stop smoking, they know they should and they will do so when they're ready.

YOUR right I don't know the difference...

Calm down, I went 2-3x I think b/c my mom had some work stuff on in Orlando every year back in the day. They closed the magic kingdom for her company and everything was free shit was off the hook. I remember being dragged to gay ass epcot though each year that sucked dick and could only do magic kingdom 1 day. Still butthurt over that 15-20 years later epcot was gay and had no rides. I'll probably bring my brothers kids in a year or two. If I have kids I'd bring them once or twice unless my wife refuses to let them miss school (you couldn't pay me to spend any time in Florida in the summer or go during a holiday week.)

But a family can only go on one february vacation. You can chose disney every year, or you can go skiing. People go to that shit annually with their culturally devoid children. There is even adults who take vacations to disney with no children (very sad and pathetic.) Thats all.

You pick out the drinking and partying part of skiing and say this is why one should move on from skiing. The drinking and partying is just on the side. The people who truly enjoy skiing do it for the skiing - for the enjoyment. Even if they can't do it for a living, they don't give it up. If a person can continue to derive enjoyment from some activity, they should not give a shit about alternatives that people like you think are more respectable or good. I mean, what do you even offer as an alternative? Sweet, you'll think I'm "ambitious" and "mature" - how about depressed?

OP, just cause your dad never supported you cause you sucked at skiing in the first place, doesn't mean you can come in here and tell us not to do what we enjoy, skiing is a pastime for most, and a passion for others, and how they go down the mountain is a sense of themselves. It sounds to me like you gave up on your dreams. It is a sad story though OP hopefully your life gets better :) (if it doesnt make sense its cause im really high, in b4 this doesnt make sense)

What the fuck are you talking about? First you label the thread give up skiing and move and then you talk about all the drinking and shit that happens with the majority of people anyways? That has hardly any relation to skiing just through the individuals and the fact that it's damn fun.

Fuck you, I'll give up the party scene eventually when things become important but never skiing.

All my parents friends who ski are very successful. And they go up quite often. If skiing is what you love to do I see no reason as to why one should quit. I mean some people have to when they get older because of their jobs though. And I feel that skiing has little to do with the drinking and partying lifestyle, I mean sure a lot of skiers do that but so do most people their age. If anything look at it as a young person with the heart to pursue something their good at for the rest of their lives. There's not many activities kids do in highschool that you can say that about. Look at how many adults you see skiing as opposed to all the highschool jocks that played football when they were young. All the people I see that are older and still ski are in great shape. All the older football players can barely do anything because they got so messed up playing. I see skiing to be like golf, both are two things that a lot of young kids do that they can do even as they age.

Wat. Both my parents are successful business people and both of them ski? Should I tell them to stop so they can be even more successful?
