You can resurrect one thing from skiings past, what do you choose?

here's another one: longer harder rails in parks. long multi kinks, gaps onto rails, S rails tilted so it's a coaster S

does anyone have like a ~100 foot rail these days? a few places had them here and there in the past but i'm not aware of any these days. never got a chance to try one :(

Hyland had a 152 ft rail this year

As one solid rail, or a combined stuff?

I'll assume they must have joined everything they have to get that length.

It was 3 different rails combined and the longest of the 3 was 70ft

I hope i never work anywhere with a 70 rail. Anything over 40 is a pain in the ass to move. I guess midwest places are smsller and parks are at the bottom because the top is 10 feet higher. Still though 70 foot rail would give me nightmares

*Edit One thing, Giant rainbow rails. Where did they go? Sorry got got caught up in nostalgia and made a list and forgot to choose one at first.

Event: West Coast Session, Loon Mtn Hike and Huck

Features: Smith Limo, Giant rainbow rails, halfpipes

Other stuff: Tall tees

Ridiculous outerwear

Lincoln loops?(Not sure the last time I've seen one. Possibly a few years

Life before VR

Abunch of parks from various times in the past that were sick that died or got nerfed.

I actually came here to post this. Giant rainbow and battleship rails were the shit back in the day. Lincoln Loops too although they have kind of been coming back lately in a few SLVSH games.

I miss the days when ski technology had a ton of progression every year. Like suddenly you had these crazy fat Islandic skis or insane reverse camber and side cut. Every year companies were putting out crazy stuff to push the envelope. Now it seems everyone has found the formula that works best and it makes for really good skis but that excitement just isnt there anymore.

Been thinking about this a bunch recently on downdays, I'm getting old and feeling nostalgic. So whether it be it a ski graphic, a contest or even a feature, what would you choose to bring back?

I'd probably go with JOSS or yearly movie drops with no leaked footage (premiere hype was insane)

Projector nights with ski movies in ski bars in resort waiting for the latest Greg Stump movie to drop :-) And you thought you were old... Plake and Schmidt invented the ski movie with their segments :-)

Not sure how people haven't said Delorme yet. Haven't seen hide nor hair of the man in years sadly. Last I heard he's up in Montana helping run his dad's farm after his stint in the ND oil fields but who knows for sure.

Can confirm he’s up here in MT living a “normal” life. Still skiing harder and better then any of us will dream of skiing.

Remember when we had dozens of annual ski movie features come out every autumn?

Remember some of these bygone names?

Plehouse. Voleurz. Stept. Field productions. 4bi9. Nimbus. Sweetgrass. Rage Films. Poor Boyz Productions...

Level 1 isn't even making yearly features anymore. it's down pretty much to TGR, Matchstick, and Whatever Warren Miller is doing these days...

I never went, but I always wanted to attend IF3 in Montreal... it was one of my biggest regrets never making it out there during the salad days of our sport... I was lucky to attend my fair share of premieres in Tahoe and Reno though... 10 years ago was sick...

Affordable lift passes for one…. Sheesh

Yes parks are too safe these days. Bring back the completely uncalculated cheese wedges

the THALL v Simon Dumont X games pipe rivalry. I still think that should be a stand alone X-games event, just every year, every single Winter X contest, year after year they wheel the two aging battleships out to talk shit, and throw increasingly less technically impressive pipe runs. I'd pay per view that.

Didn't a big fight break out at If3 one year

Becoming friends with anyone who had twintips no matter where you went

ah man I miss this :(

It's still kind of like this at my tiny Ohio hills. But it's gone the moment I go anywhere larger

I just remember seeing some grainy ass video at a NS movie thing and a bunch of homies in hoodies throwing haymakers and shoving and yelling bitch

Would be fire to have a place to jib nearby after work/class living in Boston. Think blue hills has one but I don’t know for sure.
