started snowboarding got decent, broke elbow, now have pins in elbow. stopped snowboarding in 04.

since I always inlined I got into Ski boarding for the inline feel.

I worked at a local ski shop for a few years so i tried a bunch of twin tips on and off but never got into them. Now I am looking to upgrade from the skiboards. I can do corks rodeos regular flips. switch ups 270s on and off. 450s on and off. beo-wolfs or grundel grinds or w/e they are called. just started pretzel last season. I'm 5'10" and 175. Looking for some decent twins to start off on, but not sure exactly what to look for here. I like to ride a soft boot, and spend 50/50 time on air/rails. Live in the northeast so used to the shit~tackular weather n ice. what would be some good started skis / length?

Id say it doesn't really matter.

Maybe go to a shop and ask to demo some different pairs to get a feel for what you like and what you don't in a ski. Then come back and you can get more specific results.

I would recommend LINE Afterbang's or Chronics. They're good, solid skis and will last a while. It really comes down to personal preference and what you like in a ski.

when I skiboarded i rode 99 bwps for average small stuff. and the 110 alp noodles for the larger stuff. last year I hit up the Dew Cup Course at snow. was able to do rodeos and backs and a few 180s off the booters there. the 99s were a little sketchy when you had do divebomb as fast as you could to clear shit LoL.

i was looking at Line stuff around 165ish size. maybe a 170. that a normal size for average riding?

for size id say something like a 178-182 range. if youre going to do mostly jibs go for a more specific jib ski (obviously haha), something softer like the afterbang, invader, punx, etc. and if youre going more jumps try something stiffer like the ar6's, pipe cleaners, extremes, etc.

anyone else feel free to suggest changes/tell me im wrong haha

Ah way off for size. I rode my bros 1080's that were 151's LoL. and messed around with those last year up at B-nut. did a few 270s and 1 cork 5 and took em off.

youd be like a 175 or 180 i think because i ride 166s and im 5'4" idk though, if you want a smallish ski to transition with that might work

I'm diggin' the line invaders. not sure if i should go with the 171 or 178 size. i rode some olds chool volkl 178 expressions and i think they were a bit big for my style. would 171 be too small?

alrite thanks for the advice guys, I put up n extra pair of skates for trade towards some ski stuff. I'll search for some around 175ish. i'd rather shorter than longer atleast for the first season.

here is a pic of a Ape-styled cork 5 that I voershot at a slopestyle comp last season

i know its a skiboarding thing. but my run is at 3:25. got 2nd? Trying to make the transition to the big boi sticks

I would go longer. You are probably looking for something smaller, or think you are, but you need to get some length under your feet and get used it it. I would say nothing smaller than 175, for your height, weight. I would recommend something with some width underneith, like 85+. k2 extreme, or disorderly would probably be good.

Anthems would work too. I wasnt a fan of the afterbangs, but some people seem to reallly like them. its a cool concept, but the skis felt really damp.

The armada alpha 1 or 2 might also suit you. because of the rocker on the snow it will feel like snowlerblades, at leaste it did for me.

Good luck and welcome to the winning team. :)

thanks man, i'll look for some 175-178ish since most people recommend that. Nice not to be hated on for skiboarding, I want to try some bigger noodles and see if I can progress more and bigger.
