i believe it was the 27th i was up at crystal, skiing around trying to find my friends. i found one of hte kids dads and the last he had heard three kids were hiking around the back of three way peak to get to one of the bowls past it. by 3 o clock they hadnt come back and noone knew where they were. one of the kids dads started filling out a missing person report and patrolers were ready to roll out from the top of chair 6 to search for them. about ten minutes before they wouldve headed out someone called in to the mounatain saying theyd picked up the kids 25 miles away on highway 410 outside of yakima. the people were just out for a 'weekend drive' and happened to be there. they gave the kids a ride to a mcdonalds in yakima where they got to wait for 3 hours... good times, everyone calls them yakima now. i suck at telling stories and such.

now that is crazy.... a really long way to ski, but definately possible i guess. with all the snow lately i am sure that was all well covered. and no yakima is very far from flat.

It was probably a very very long drive.

Crystal is just north of Mount Rainier, you can see highway 410 in that picture. You can see how far 25 miles is from the scale, so that got them about halfway to Yakima. So it was still a far drive, they're pretty lucky those people were out there. 410 is also closed in the winter, so you can't go straight to Yakima, so the parents or whatever would have had to go ALL the way around, if I was their parents, I would've fucking left them there to work the orchards. I'm sure they didn't pay for gas!
