found a smoking hot deal on some fks's but they have 110 mm brakes on them. Was wondering if i would run into some issues with that wide a brake on a set of alpha ones

I don't think that would work out so good.

They will stick out from your skis and when you are doing rails and boxes i think they will hit.

I would try to find a 90mm brake or something to put on there.

Short answer...no.
The brakes will drag when you carve a turn (or even worse, off a jump), the catching will not only be annoying, but will bend the brake in all sorts of different directions and will eventually cause the brake to fail (snap in half pretty much).
I wouldn't buy them before contacting rossi and seeing how easy it is to order the smaller break and how much they are, you might find that it would end up being cheaper buying the L size for somewhere else.

I guarantee you could quite easily find someone with skinny brakes who is scared to bend them who would swap their skinny brakes plus $25 for your fat ones. Buy them now and hook up a swap at the start of winter.

just gonna toss this out there, if you have to ask this question, chances are you don't need an 18 din binding...

thanks for the replies. I have a 18 din deadbolts for my night trains. I may not need 18, but i need atleast 15 din. Its just a killer deal on these bindings. Brand new for 340.

the thing is that its local in canada. I get raped on brokerage and customs when I get stuff online from the states. Like I priced fks18 out from backcountry shipped to canada and you are looking at about 500ish bucks all said and done. Even locally, Head mojo 15's are 350 aswell. Its just a killer deal in my mind, Im not really too concerned with money or "overkill" with 18 din because as i said, i already have 18 dins for my night trains. Im still not 100 percent sure im going to pull the trigger, but its pretty hard to turn down a fresh set of fks for a deal like that locally. I would rather support the local shops and pay a few bucks more.

if you do buy them even tho u probably should not

im sure many people would gladly trade you stock breaks....
