Although some may not agree that X Games "forced" skiers to compete in dangerous conditions, these skiers are expected to perform their best on one of the sports larger stages for their sponsors, fans, etc and for that I believe they are indeed "forced" in a way to compete.
It's this logic that Napier publishes that makes me agree with OP. It is the X Games that is at fault. I strongly believe that "esports" don't have a place at X Games, however if they were not aired overlapping another event I would not be upset.
TLDR: Fuck X Games.
