it get u inshape for down hill and fourtonately its over by the time the best downhill starts march and aprill are the best months ever Its fun hitting jumps on xcs to more fun than say actully skiing (the season gets long) unless u live in gird ur not gonna be skiing every day anyway

xc IS good cross training, however, the spandex and what not is really questionable... i mean how fast can you ACTUALLY go on those things. not nearly as fast as on downhillers...

heres a couple reasons it sux. First in hatchers they make these little groups and block the places where you build shit. The spandex is gay. And like no hot girls ever do it. WSM Holla
