so yea i know it sounds gay to make thread about video games but w.e i cracked my rib and tore muscles. so i cant do anything to much. my xbox keeps me company i guess.

its pissing me off because its been working okay but making really loud chicking noises for a long time but not effecting it. but for about 3 days now. ill turn it on and get about 2 minutes into a game and it totally freezes. like it wont even bring up the dashboard at all.

has this happened to anyone?

should i send it in?

almost the same exact thing happened to me. mine started making noises and then the screen just goes black and all i can hear is the sound. yea id def. send it in

Go the best buy.

Buy a new xbox.

Keep receipt.

Put the old one in the box.

Return that shit, and have a new xbox.

Dont forget to keep your HDD obviously

i just made a thread about my ps3 doing shit like that last week.
it's such bullshit to me that these consoles are built so poorly. I didn't pay 400+ for the shit to break after 4 months. It's pathetic.

I've heard that they are BS. They draw too much power from the xbox causing it to heat up more than the intercooler helps.

its called a box swap, ive done it with phones and an xbox, no old receipt, just go buy a new one, switch the serial number sticker with your old one, place old one in new box and rturn say your mom already bought you one cuz its your birthday

thats a great idea but im fucked i cant do that lol. the xbox i have in the halo special edition and i bet they wouldnt have them! ill do check it out though

my xbox doesn't read discs anymore any of you have any advice besides the xbox swap return thing?

word is it a hard procedure? i don't know anything about the hardware stuff of gaming systems or computers or anything...

You just gotta know where to look for the screws.

It prob uses torx drivers, I know the original xbox did. THey can be picked up for cheap at lowes.

There are some really good guides online how to do this. Google is your friend here.

Good luck, and remember, once you break the seal yur warranty is VOID. I hear you can use a blowdryer to unstick it tho and you can stick it back later.

If it's less than a year old, it's probably still under warranty. Call up the xbox repair number - they're pretty good about gettin your shit fixed up or replaced.

call 1800 4 my xboxif its not under warrenty do the box swapand mine did this then it RROD'ed for the 5th timexboxs are annoying

i'd still do it even if it is under warranty. when i sent mine in under warranty, it was a good couple of months until I got it back.

that happened to me. youre about to get the red ring. and you can send it to xbox until it gets the red ring or else they wont fix it. just keep turning it on and letting it freeze until you get red ring so that you can get it fixed asap

You can fix this one real easily. Take out all the plugs and chords and go over to your window. Then throw it out towards the ground. This should help stop the clicking sound.
