That's really too bad I always loved the backcountry segs was just good midseason free baackcountry content

That's ridiculous if it's true. Do you have a source by any chance? I would really be surprised to see them do that.
 
This year, Real Mountain will extend the Real Series even further by debuting a digital-only fan-vote competition featuring seven North American big mountain ski resorts. Aspen Snowmass, Jackson Hole, Mammoth Mountain, Revelstoke, Snowbird, Squaw Valley and Whistler Blackcomb will each submit 90-second videos showcasing their resort-sponsored athletes skiing and snowboarding in-bounds terrain and natural features.

Thats the closest thing they will have it think. The vids will come out in november

They will, I actually really like inbounds footage. Some of the old msp/tgr movies had it, and I loved it in Scott Gaffney's 1999. 1999 Was awesome for me because it showed how hard Rob Gaffney (who could shred most of the xgames guys out there when it comes to skiing Squaw) and Shane McConkey and others were destroying Squaw, which was where I lived at the time.

Having said that, I really hope they don't do away with the realski backcountry, that stuff is insane. I don't care about urban so to replace backcountry with urban really sucks.

That would be a bummer if this contest disappeared. So sick to reward people for big backcountry jumps.
