How about Bucky Lasek just absolutely dominating skateboard vert comps in 2013! I love seeing the 40 year old veteran just slay. It's not like he is doing the same runs with same tricks either, he's switching it up with new tricks (AT 40 YEARS OLD!!)

Awesome. And how about Guy Mariano winning real street? Guy Mariano, at 37 years old, after a history of drug abuse winning x games gold!! Pow.

He had a real bad weed/alcohol problem for awhile and then went to hard drugs. The main way e sobered up was filming his part for fully flared. It kept his mind off of drugs. Before he filmed his part in fully flared he hadn't skated in 4 years too

Are there rules in Rally? It seems like everyone just tries to spin each other out and whoever stays clean wins.

Did but they eventually started showing rally cross and ladies enduro moto... Needless to say I already killed myself so I won't be catching the finals.

well they said its definetly not cancelled, so I guess they are gonna show it after skate big air? Also bog air is supposed to start in like 25min. At least thats what the commentators said...

Yeah, would be awesome. But I mean the weather is good, so there is still sme time left to start it. Also even if they would start from further down, its still better that it not taking place at all (if the weather was like yesterday for example)

Scores were a little whack seeing as how Semenuk spun both ways and did a backie off the first drop (which only a rare few can do).

All in all, that was incredible. They did a great job of creating a course with flow that was also really big.

Yeah I got to watch it on YouTube and pretty much if they went a run without falling they got on the podium.

Yeahh, noticed that after I watched the top runs and made that post. Hopefully next year the weather cooperates a tad better because as awesome as that course was, it was completely at the mercy of the wind due to the size. So much could have gone down today... oh well.

The course seemed sketchy to me, no idea what they were thinking on the landing before the last drop. It's been awhile since i've seen a solid no foot can, I expected more from that crazy Spaniard though.

Eh, the weather was crap and must have still been so for when they were running. His usual flat 3s looked more like a whack flip so it didn't seem that he was comfortable on the course. Hell barely anyone made their runs despite all of them easily doing the course during practices. Must have been the weather, the course looked splendid to me otherwise. I loved Semenuk and Rheeder's 3 drops- so smooth and his frontflip barspin was kinda insane.

I also thought the contest overall ended up being super dope.

And it was judged correctly...

Don't forget Rheeder did an unnatty 3 off the first big drop. And he threw a couple bar spins in flips where Semenuk didn't. Both of those guys were leaps and bounds over the rest of the field, however my favorite trick I saw was actually in the Phenom Contest. The winner did a flat 3 over the second booter where Rheeder and Semenuk threw flip whips. I also liked the Claw's table 3's off the drops.

In the comments over on pinkBike people were complaining that the course was too tight and didn't have enough flow... and also that the conditions were dangerous. We've all heard (and made) those complaints before. At least X Games slopestyle course designers don't discriminate by sport.

Anyone else not that impressed with Bob's winning 540? I know it was a switch ollie trick, super hard... but he rolled down the windows worse than even I've ever done. His cork 7 lien air in a more recent X was way more impressive. It just sucks for the sport that grabs make spinning easier, so the judges are inclined to give more points for flailing straight spins. If he did that trick with no grab and no flail, then I'd say it's way more deserving... but it looked shitty from my couch potato perspective.

Yeah they say it was bad because they had to pedal and that they shouldn't have built it on a HILL... users on pinkbike are like the ones on NS in that most have no clue about what they're talking about. The guy who designed that course did the Bergline along with Darren as a supervisor to the build. It was a nice course, just not so much with that crazy wind. There was nothing that could have been done about it beyond waiting hours for it to die down. Remember, they're not forced to run- it's just like Crankworxs and Chatel last year.
