X Games big air winners over the years?

Recently a friend asked me who won X Games Big Air by doing a switch 7. I told him JF Cusson Back in 1999.

Incase you haven't seen it (hopefully the link works)


This got me thinking. It'd be cool to see a sort of timeline of all the winning Big Air tricks from all the years that X games have been doing the event. Maybe if we can collect all of them I'll put them together in a compilation video or make and article here on NS. It'd be cool to see the progression and just how the whole event has changed over the years.

So if you know of any of the results/videos then post them in the thread.

Also if this works out well we could do the same for slope style and pipe runs maybe?

2001-tanner hall || switch 720 tail

2006-tj schiller || sw 1440 mute

*this was not suppose to be a big air, slopestyle got cancelled and they decided last minute to run a big air event on the last jump. event was called 'Best Trick'

Sick Idea, not only for the tricks but also how the course is built and to see the course progression over the years. Along with style and fashion.

Yea also Candide's was a D Spin 900 not a 720

I'm surprised Inspired Media of all users is getting Henrik's and Candide's stuff wrong

Yup, they took TJ and I think Andreas and matched them frame by frame to see who grabbed longer to choose a winner.

Teej did have the dirty sw 14 in the US Open big air though.

that was his bio 12 at a different comp, i don't think it was US open but I can't remember for the life of me what it was.

I want to know how much progression is due to technology (gear and course building) and how much of it is natural progression due to competition.

IT was a different world. Hard to imagine if. Hell some places still had snowboard only parks then.

And simon dumonts dub front winning was such a joke. That was the last straw for me with x. Text to vote? Sweet idea guys
