these judges just wanted to see tanner get his consectutive medals...they gave him a low score for his first run to make it look like they weren't favoring him...jon's run deserved hell of a lot more then he got...

yeah it should have been peter jon and then gagnier(he was stomping rodeos both ways and he placed 8th...)he placed behind abma who fell halfway through his run. jon's runs were so rediculous he stomped everything, including the unnatural 270 on the flat down, while tanner went natural his entire run. peter went 270 off the first down rail and then 450 off the flat rail and stuck everything(including back to back cork 7's, unnatural to natural)and he placed 2nd, i dont get it

Jon did a switch off axis 1080, and the rest of his run was flawless. Explain to me how tanners run was more impressive than Jon's.

i've explained why tanner won on so many threads now it's ridicules.

here's why. 450 to unnat on the downkink, different grab on every trick, from his unnat blunt 5 to his switch 7 japan, AND that nosepress on the stairilizer. his landings were solid and his line was original and impressive. he forgoed the big spins to display his fuckin steez... but don't forget his switch 9 tail bitches.

I think he deserved it, 20ft gap to nosepress on the stair thing, the 450 on, and the japan grab for the sake of variety, nobody else did that.

 
and the fact that the 450 to unnatty was the most creative and techical rail trick in the entire comp by far.....

tanners 5 wasnt unnatural. he was like the only person not spinning unnatural in his runs. his run was really good though, i thought it was close.

 
it's hard to say who's run was better than anyone elses because they were all so sick. i do agree with the judges being biased though. they have it in their heads who is going to win before anything even goes down. olenick's run was hot because he was hitting the course from a different line than everyone else.

 
Jon's second run was better then his first and he got scored less but his unatty 270 onto teh down kink was so smooth and he stuck everything so clean and his trick were bigger then tanners overal tanner shouln't have won because weren't very strong and his 450 was nice but liked jon's 270 on becuase he slid teh whole down part but t's nose press was so sick still T shouldn't have won I'd say second

jon's switch 10 wasn't corked, the announcers said it was but it wasn't. clean none the less though.

and when jon/olenick/halls runs were each better in their own way, its really just a personal preference of which one you liked. It is easy to say that they favored hall because he won the last two, doesn't mean they did. The judges can't appease everyone.

as good as tanner hall is, i do think that sometimes the judges are biased towards him...i was shocked when tanner got 3rd after 1st runs, not b/c he got 3rd, but bc the judges actually gave him scores like that..i guess im so used to him getting 1st, no matter how good or bad he does,,,,know what i mean?

tanners 450 to down kink wasn't a slide, if it was longer he probably wouldn't have stayed on. and also his first landings were rather crappy. the nose press was good. It just looked great compared to the other 2nd round runs before him.

judging was so biased!!! talk about conflict of interest. julien renier (armada rider and part owner) and pep (tanner's roommate)as judges! give me a break! jon's run was so first place. i'm sorry if some of you think tanner's run was a first place run - but no way! jon's run was so incredible and to finish off with the 1080 was amazing. pete had a great run too. it should have finished jon, pete, tanner. whether you want to believe it or not - tanner got the 'good old boys' votes and that's why he's going home with the gold again. until they can come up with impartial judging, jon will continue to get shafted!

 
yea it was unnatty i just noticed that. god even sicker but yea i think he should have won but i dont think he should have won with that margain. cause his sec run was 2pts better tahns jons first and it shouldnt of been taht great of a margain

the judges werent all about Taneer..his run was sick and so was jon's but most of the judges were top name guys like pep who wouldn't just give it to who they wanted to see win, they'll gave it to whoever desreves it

whether you want to believe it or not, tanner's run was best. i like jon a lot, but tanner's was better (but it was very close).

tanner did 450 to unnatty, giant nosepress, killed more rails, switched up grabs, and most importantly, went for style rather than bigger tricks which is super important in the judging on a course with a tiny 'money booter'. maybe if the final hit had been 70 feet,his switch 7 wouldn;t have been as good a choice, but the money booter was 45 feet, and therefore it was better to style ou tthe 7 with a japan.

as for his sliding only a little on his 450 to unnatty:

1. he is really good at unnatty slides, and could have slid a lot farther

2. if you were actually good enough to do good disasters, you'd know that sliding 3 feet as oppoesed to the maximum of 5 feet he could have slid makes absolutely no difference

plus, jon really backseated his switch 9 early in his run

I'm watching it from yesterday. I taped it, Jons 1080 was definetley super sick, it just happened. only a 92.2 on that run is BS. HE and Tanner should have been a lot closer, Jon shuld have at least been second, but olenick and Tanner had super sick second runs. Next year I dont think it will be as close. Tanner deserves to be on the podium, but it would be nice to see a change

CRs run was amazing as well boys, thats sytle. But jon had that everything was so stomped except some weirdness on his first 9. But fuck tanner through a cork 7, weve seen WAY too much of that trick, it killed it and he landed sketchily as well. I lied jons run better.

does it really matter Who one? none of us will loose sleep over this. It's just awesome that comps like this are on TV to watch. That's all I have to say, It was wicked to see them all ski.

 
the runs were all close. I love tanners style but i thought Olenicks run was nasty and maybe worthy of 1st. Either way it doesnt matter. Looking at this from a broader angle ts more important to our sport that Tanner 3peat. He will get some publicity for this. If olenick had won it wouldnt have been nearly as important to new skiing as tanners win is. It will bring more publicity to the sport hopefully.

 
Thank god the judges are begginning to judge on style and innovation rather than on spins. The athletes have known it for a while, buth the jusges have been not. Yes, Jon's run was super sick, but he didn't hit the stairilizer. Yes, sw 10 is a difficult trick but I think it is the judges way of finally saying a 10 is not the automatic golden ticket. It was difficult to judge whose run was better but hopefully this a beggining to the slow process of putting more merit in the slower stylie spins.

yeah jon had a sic run, but he backseated his early 9 and didn;t hit the stairlizer, plus, as ill say again and again, going for style rather than big spins was the key on a course with such small hits

yea dude just like, (i think pete o?) said that almost all of the tricks in slopestlye have been done, so now style/unatty or switch combos will count for more than hucked tricks with no grab. Although Jon was the only one to stick a switch 10 clean, so that counted in my opinion more than tanners switch 7, because Jon he grabbed, stomped and did another 3 more than tanner. But Jon sketched on that first jump and only 270ed, while tanner was clean and 450ed. I would put tanner higher. Olenick shoulda won though... but all these guys definatley deserved to medal.

i think that if jon would have put that stairilizer into his run he would have won, but its judges choice and these guys were former competitors, but you cannot deny that tanners run had a uncomparable style( stuck landings, air style, etc)

i emailed getboards.com and they told me they had no idea what the oakley skis were- Starky
