Wtf is wrong with snowboarders??

So I went skiing today for the first time at the local hill. Now I realize that snowboarders have to sit down, but what is with them forming a virtual wall at the top of lifts? The run will be like 20 feet across and they will be in a line blocking all but like 2 feet of the run!!

you should just take a couple deeeeeeep breaths and not worry too much about it.
 
Ummm Its xmas vacation week? Its crowded everywhere? Whats with these damn gapers! whenever they fall their equipment goes everywhere! Its blocking my trails!!!!
 
I realize they have to sit down to do up their bindings, but WTF do they have to virtually block the enitre run?

and to the person who says how rad they are...

they are rad for being stupid inconsiderate gappers who block almost the entire run? If you wanted to hit up a cool jump but couldnt because a bunch of stupid a** SKIERS decided to sit right in front and block the jump would you think they are rad or a bunch of inconsiderate F***S?

well its annoying but think about the problems they face with with skiers. kids DIN is at .25 and daddys taking him on the big lift for the first time. skis come off just going up to the chair, lift stops, etc.
 
I was standing sideways on a flat connecting run, and a snowboarder ran the front of my skis over. He didn't even hit the tip, he just ran over like 2 inches from the tie piece of my binding and kept going.

Also, two snowboarders ran into my dad (not at the same time) and both times they were knocked down but my dad was left standing. Made me lol.

Then when I was in Colorado, at loveland or a basin, a snowboarder going like 9 bazillion mph hit my uncle and broke his shoulder and was like "hey bro didn't see you there!". Nice try, my uncle is like 6'6" and was wearing a bright red jacket; pretty hard to miss.

 
I know what you're talking about but don't hate on ALL snowboarders. Plus usually the ones that know better (Me) will just strap in and drop. Only the gapers who barely even know how to ride will sit there for like 10 minutes and not drop. Just relax and have some patience.
 
My stories make it seem like I hate snowboarders, but I ski with like 6 or 7 of them. I just hate these people who happened to be snowboarders, if a skier was one of those people from my stories, I would think they were stupid and irresponsible too.
 
1. They're doing their bindings, not everyone has the balance/care to stand up and do them.
2. Mountains get busy, deal with there being alot of people. At least its not a train of 7 year old skiers snaking down the run.
3. Snowboarding, sadly, has become the trendiest thing around, so deal with an increased number of snowboarders who don't know what the fuck they're doing. Kinda like how skiers now are wearing tall t's, or riding in the park for that matter. Everyone jumps on bandwagons and does whats popular.
4. I snowboard, i hate skiers and snowboarders who cut me off and snake my jumps. I can't go one day without trying to hit a kicker/rail without literally seeing someone standing in the flat/bottom of the rail, but I'm not gonna say 'all skiers are shitheads and should get out of the park.
5. Imma do me, you do you, ya dig?
 
There are just as many retard skiers who piss around blocking the hill. And there are alos chill boarders

Its retards vs. non retards not boarders vs skiers.
 
I think you guys are taking the OP out of context. I think it's more about the boarders who literally block the unload ramp for the chairlift, for example. Which I agree is annoying. If they could only move to the side so that I don't have to crash when I'm getting off the lift. Haha

Haha today I was sniping gapers and I got this kid who caught an edge flew 10 feet straight out of both his boots and his skis. Turns out he didn't know you buckle your boots. He had to climb up to his skis in socks hahahah.
 
jan. 2 was your first day? what is wrong with you, those boarders have been sitting there for months, or at least weeks.
 
I feel your pain, all my friends board except 1 but he goes to a dif. mountain. It's funny though because they mess around and try to bang.
 
Today i saw one throw both his poles before his skis came flying off along with his boots... how does it happen?! only a gaper could do such a thing
 
wow man most of my friends are snowboarders and they are all pretty chill. dont really know where ur coming from, only snowboarder who is a dick is shawn white, rest of them are sickk. love and peace.

Ok, you caught me, my first day was the 18th, the first day my mtn opened (they dont have snowmaking) Then went off to visit family.

My ski resort has benches. And if there were like 20 snowboarder doing their bindings, and only half of them blocked the run, I wouldnt even be so pissed. But almost every single one of them has to get next to someone (as opposed to uphil or downhil, so they don't block the run)
 
i hate sitting next to a snowboarder on the lift, his shit always invading my foot space and banging into me
 
Agreed.

I also hate how the majority of snowboarders don't, or can't, carve down the hill. Instead they just skid or stay on one edge down the whole trail. Snowboarders are the main cause of icy slopes.
 
I hate how ALL skiers, when the crash off a rail, take FOREVER to step back into their skis. And ALL skiers don't realize you have to push the back of the heel piece back down before you can step in. And ALL skiers have to hike back up the landing of jumps to get their poles, instead of having a buddy grab it for them.

Making generalizations against large groups of people is SO cool.

Anyone on this thread bashing snowboarders...is a gaper. Plain and simple.
 
Really? My post made a specific example of a event, mentioned that it happens frequently, and asked what is wrong with these people? You should really study harder in your analytical classes in college. Oh wait, you are only in junior high :)
