WTF? Hydrant Tickets ?

So in front of my home there is a fire hydrant, to the left and right of this fire hydrant there is enough room for a car of a compact vehicle size to fit. i.e carolla, civic, camry ( my car ) I parked here last night which is directly in front of my house. I wake up this morning to a 40 dollar ticket for parking in front of a fire hydrant.

So my question is: Do I have any actual warrant to go into a court of law and state my case in front of a judge. How this is the only hydrant on my street in front of a home, how I was not parked obstructing the ability for firefighters to be able to get to it? How the fire hydrants should be placed more strategically aka near the wall opposite the street where no one can park?Or do I have to take this and just 40 dollars for parking late at night when I get home from a long day at work....Really think its unfair to put a non fire curb w/ a fire hydrant in front of my home.

if your really thinking about fighting it, park your car there and take a picture showing its possible to park where you did without obstructing the hydrant, also think what happends to the fire hose when it is filled with water preasure, and take into consideration that fire personel may not have time to deal with your car, its your call if you want to fight it, but also keep in mind, getting a court date does take sometime... sometimes its just better to pay the 40$

What if your house burned down because the FD could not get to the hydrant in time? Sometimes hydrants are placed closest to main water lines underground. They do not take in to count ease of parking for a residence. If I was your neighbor and my house caught fire and burned down because your car was in the way and it wasted time to get it hooked up, I would be angry. There are parking regulations for a reason.... I don't mean to be a jerk, but seriously it's basic driving protocol.

I also understand you left room, but Fire vehicles are huge. emergency crews don't have time to mess around trying to park...

You have to park 15 feet away from a hydrant in order for it to be legal. They had to draw the line somewhere, and I suppose 15 feet made the most sense.

Sorry you got a ticket, but it looks like it is time to suck it up, pay it, and start parking a bit further away.

the city should at least mark it with red curb guaranteeing that no one mistakes the lawfulness of parking in that specified zone.

It is a well known law. You knew there was a hydrant there and you chose to park next to it. I suppose they should put up signs telling you it is illegal to beat your wife or have sex with a goat?

its just so much like entrapment...they know you want to park there...they know you have the 30 bucks...they know you will take it up the ass and just pay it...and they know you will eventually just say fuck it they wont come and ticket me...and they come and ticket you....and...FUCK

DO THIS: Move your car so that is not parked directly in front of the hydrant, but somewhat close. Take a picture of it to show the prosecutor that you were close but not really blocking it. Set up a small meeting with your towns prosecutor and go in and show them the picture and lie to their stupid face.

its pretty simple. dont park within 15 feet of a fire hydrant. its a pretty universal law. it sucks, but it can potentally save someones life or something.
