Wtb suspects

id say keep that money, work up some more and get this years. they are bound to be better, and it wont be throwing your money possibley away

nope, exact same skis as 09. They even put edge armour in the shogun. Salomon makes good skis if you do not hit rails much, but if you are doing down rails a lot then the problem can come out. If they took out edge armour the skis would be so much better though..

I have a nearly new pair of 176 cm ones with STH 12 bindings. Used a handful of times and in excellent condition. Mounted center for around a 305-310mm. Looking for like $290 plus about $25 shipping in the U.S., $40 to Canada.

there has been a lot of controversey over whether or not they are different, or the same. I for one talked to a pretty reliable source deep in salomon, who told me they were working all the defects out, and that the skis the pros had werent even done, they just had different graphics, and that the new ski would be done at a later time, and they were also working to make the suspect and dumont lighter.

salomon has been in this buisness a long time, and im sure they know that witht he economy the way that it is, people will need a ski they can rely on, and one that will last them some time. and last years salomon suspect, and dumont, witht he amount of manufacturing defects that they had, can not, and will not be the same if they want to survive in this time. thats my opinion and what i have heard.

yeah I do believe Salomon makes good products, and these seem to be the only skis with problems(at least of all the high end skis they make). The Rocker, Czar, Gun, and all those seem like they hold up well for years. I was told at one of my shops that they were pressing the same ski with the new topsheet, and that seemed to be the thought of most around here, but that could have only been the first run(like for the southern hemisphere or something) and hopefully they will make some edge change for what we will have in the states next season. Didn't the (07 or 08, don't remember which) Dumont get steadily great reviews? I know it is going back but why don't they just base it off that? IDK though I will shut up now.

the 07-08 dumont ski get outstanding reviews, and was probably my favorite ski of all time. my guess to why they do not go back is a lot of time was probably spent on the making of the new high end salomon skis, and it would be a major set back, no matter how nice the 07-08 salomon skis were, due to the time and money spent on the new skis. what you heard about the shop pressing could be very true. last years salomon were not all riddled with defects, from what i heard, many of the skis produced in the begining of the year had the defects, and unfortunatley many people get there skis in the begining of the season. as the year went on they steadily worked towards ridding the ski of defects, but that obviously did not work to well. the basic design of the ski is outstanding, and once it is perfected it will be one of the best out there, but until then just make sure they are a product you want to spend that much money on, and if they arent, i would recomend investing in armada, the skis are similiar to that of salomon, and absolutley kill the park.

go with something else salomons really unreliable two kids I skiied with this year both had suspects and had problems with em not a good choice of ski if u ask me
