Writing a 10 page paper on the EA Skate series

for my video game studies class I was assigned to write about any video game, developer or series and I have chosen to write about skate.

and @bearjew i will be saying the same thing in a few months

other than the fact that tony hawk really set the stage for all action sports games to follow, it blows in comparison to the detail of career mode and the game play and the overall realisticness of the EA Skate.

skate is beast. I play skate 2 and it's def. one of my favorites. realistic when you want it to be, crazy when you want it. I keep finding new stuff to do

My guess on how this paper will turn out...

STAKE BEST SPORTS GAME EVER!!!!

You can go to this place called mega park and practice DUBS for getting ill with it in the winter with ya homies.

THE END.

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 > Skate.

Should've done Tony Hawk's Pro Skater bro. When it came out it was actually fucking mind blowing. Everything after that were pretty much just improvements of the concepts and ideas used in THPS. It actually fucking revolutionized the action sports gaming industry.

you also have to take into what else was around, and the time it was made.

it was top notch and set the standards.

Its like comparing the first TV to what we have today

Skate is not realistic at all I dont know what you are talking about. I can do a tipple kick flip with like 3 late flips after and 360 flips into a rail do more 360flips while on the rail then 360 out not realistic.

that's because your trying to play unrealistically, the beauty of Skate is that you can also play rather realistically in addition to the unrealistic shit your talking about

Still, the controls top any Tony Hawk game anyday, instead of holding 3 buttons at the same time to do a backflip, you are actively controlling it. So many more options in skate. SSX on tour was great, probably one of my top 3 games ever, but it is a little redundent, and not something I can play for hours like skate.

Good to write about what you love.

I wrote a paper once on the benefits of eco tourism in the Yucatan peninsula. It was pretty rad and I had to struggle to get it down to 16 pages. But it was fucking good.

That being said, I also taught an intro to video game development at UC Irvine for Summer Camp... It was fucking rad and I preferred teaching summer camp over writing that paper. Yay video games! Love making them, can't stand playing them!

Exactly. It's like in Amped 2. You can easily just hold the analog to the max and huck doubles off little moguls or you could control your tricks and make them realistic. I mean if you want ultra realistic then doing the actual sport is the best option.

yeah I guess but shits a lot more natural looking in skate, the fact that you don't have to press a button to grind is one example

skate 3 is my favorite game of all time. hands down.

please make it a 10 page paper to EA Sports on why they should make a skate 4. PLEASE.

go sports skiing for ps3, when i bought it and played it i flipped

but what about ssx on tour it has skiing and is sick

If I wanted to take the time to get good at skate, I would instead take the time to learn how to skateboard.

thats the thing about it. it takes so much to get epicly good at. the only reason i got to spend as much time as i did playing that game was because i blew my knee out one year and wasnt doing jack shit but hangin out in bed and getting higher than you think is possible.
