Ok so I went skiing tonight, and was having a good night until my skis started acting weird. I kept releasing on my lead ski when I landed on rails decently hard, but dealt with it because i figured I'd just turn up my DIN later.

Later that night I come off a down rail switch, and fall forward and completely eat shit. I look down the hill and my ski is racing down the hill with no heelpiece. The heelpiece is up where I fell. So I collect my shit and take it into the shop. $25, one day, and three helicoils. No biggie, but still pissed.

Later tonight I get a call. It's the techie. He says that instead of the needed 4 holes for my heelpiece, there are 8. And to top it off the wrong 4 holes AREN'T EVEN FILLED IN. My core had rotted from the inside out and become fucking mush. Good job idiots.

Now I can't find my receipt thingy for the mounting, and I want to take my skis back and chew them out and get my money back but I don't know if they will give me money for a new pair.

that is shit luck dood. best of luck with it. just come in hot and they probably will back down. u'll get ur money back.
 
No, when they were mounted during the summer, they fucked up and drilled 8 holes. The extra 4 were left unfilled so my ski filled with water and rotted. Skis=ruined.
 
That sucks dude, I had a similar problem with a shop where my heelpiece ripped out (different reason) and the people at the shop were so unhelpful when I went back, especially the manager.
 
wow that sucks so bad... I hate it when techies seem like they just got an hour training and used your skis as a testing ground...
 
dude two days ago my heelpiece ripped off too, but it wasnt the mounters fault. they were just solomons :/ i've heard it happen to everyone wit solomons and im never buying them again, they were STH 14s..... they just completely bent up and busted out and the trackers broke off
 
WHAAAAATTTT??? shit i thought your heelpiece was cracked or something, i have vid of your ski exploding too lol. what shop mounted those wasnt perfects was it? thats amazingly retarded. take the skis back whatever shop you wewnt to should still have the paperwork with your name all over it, id go in there and go the fuck off
 
yeah that sucks man the same thing happened to me last week except my shop realized they fucked up and fixed everything for free

and man that sucks, the techie really fucked up and the shop better give you new sticks or your money back. After you go back and go ape shit on them( which hopefully you will) post your results.
 
that's why i mount my own skis now. I trust myself with it over anyone else, and its free and fun.
 
thats fucken bullshit go in and freak out i garentee u can get new skis cuase this is there fault 10000000000% and im pretty sure by law ski shops have to keep those little slips on record for 7 years or something like that so u can def prove ur case
 
the exact same thing happened to me. I went back to the shop that did the mounting and they bought me a new pair of skis.
 
Ok so I went and got my ski from the shop today. Looked at it and there were actually 10 holes. One pair of holes was like completely freehanded and ridiculously off alignment. So pissed.

So I went to the people who mounted them and complained. I got the manager who kept insisting "no, no, no, that doesn't happen here, we don't do that kind of work." The guy seemed to be implying that I went home after they were mounted and took the heelpiece off and just drilled holes for giggles. Or hey, maybe the drill fairies got ahold of my ski, that could have happened.

I was nice about it until he kept implying that I DID that to my OWN skis. Then I just went apeshit about it. I told him "So wait, youre telling me that I worked my ass off for a whole summer to get these skis, and you won't even own up to it and replace them?" to which he replied "well thats your stoy"

Uhm... alright.

I mean really? He's not going to own up to the fact that someone at that shop messed it up?

So here's what he's going to do. He's going to remount them for free... on a pair of skis with 10 holes in the back and a soggy core.

Yeah, that works super well, asshole.

Oh, and it was vertical drop. DO NOT TAKE YOUR SKIS THERE. EVER.
 
Damn Evan that fucking sucks man. I will now never get my shit mounted at Vertical Drop and will be willing to pay the 40 bucks for perfects to mount them because Perfects is fast, legit, and you know people who work there are legit. I am also never buying anything from them again. Fuck that shit.
 
oh yeah I could have told you that.. everything I hear from them is bad.. but I say we get all of ns to help you out.. something like get everyone on ns to call in and bitch.
 
Get your parents in there (assuming you're under 18) esp. your mom. They're good at bitching people out. If that doesn't solve your problem, call up the BBB.

im sure the manager has no idea what the tech did get the manager to talk to the tech with you. because it is retarded of the manager to think you would put your own holes in the ski after they have been mounted.
 
He said the only people that mount the skis are him and some other guy who is certified and has been doing it for like 15 years or something
 
if your story is all true go in and demand new skis, a ski with 10 holes and a rotten core is garbage, you have no use for it, your just gonna rip out that same heel again. go in with your mom and bitch them out. you could of gotten hurt if you binding got ripped off doing a grab off a jump or sumthin. demand new skis and a free mount (the right way). dont not settle for what they tell you, they are just trying to save that money for buying you new skis. show them that you will not stand for anything less. and now im just rambling on cause i wouldnt take any of that shit from a shop doing a shitty job. just keep argueing your case
 
dude if their blowing you off get in touch with the manufacturer. bluehouse right? tell them that one of their vendors is bogus and send them some pics

and damn i always thought vertical drop was legit, i was gonna get a new setup next year from them instead of online but chalk that up
