Wow, i found a 400 dollar pen in my house

dude try ebay or some website in which people collect pens. i know there are sites like that. hope that helps

or you could write shit.

theres nothing like writing with a good, smooth pen.

but if you do sell it, i would use ebay

eBay that shit and remember to set a reserve price. pawn shops are just going to give you roughly half what you could get for it on eBay... i tend to pawn my mom's TV off for heroin money, so i'd know this kinda shit.

Either that other bro is being sarcastic or he doesn't know about the movie and made and excellent reference to Requiem For a Dream without knowing he did. Hahah.
But like that other kid said a couple posts up, nothing is better than writing with a damn good pen, especially a fountain pen.

They are too heavy for my liking - generally you need a certificate of authenticity to get top dollar if you are looking to sell it though.

in the business world, who would you rather make a deal with. the guy with an expensive pen or a bic pen. image is everything.

Really? I would much rather respect the person executing a contract with a Bic or one of its derivates rather then some ostentatious display of pointlessness.
The real world isn't real estate based around lexus' with higher payments than their mortgage and braces centered on superficial aesthetics. I have seen far bigger contracts than you will know signed with 50 cent pens and I am sure outside investors would be much happier about than then some frivolous, expensed 400 dollar pen marking up some paper.

a 400 dollar pen doesn't have to be ostentatious. and can be a conservative looking black or silver pen, but the mechanics of the parts within the pen is what may make it seem ostentatious to some, but those would only be to people who know a lot about pens to begin with. which in means that this pen would be noticed by other connoisseurs which will instantly help first impressions between the two conoisseurs which could spawn a great business relationship.

this also applies to watches; there are more people who like watches then pens which means more people will notice the watch which means. the guy with the international watch company watch sees a person with a breguet tourbillion lets say, then that may be ostentatious because the guy with the IWC knows how expensive it is, but will also want to make you meet that person and see what kind of business they are in, the watch will become a conversation starter.

if you're trying to argue that image isn't everything and if you think this is appropriate logic, then an off the rack untailored suit would suffice over a bespoke made suit and you would see less men paying attention to the quality of their suits.

and to further my argument, read or watch american psycho and see how materialism in the business world drove patrick bateman crazy. for a book or movie to have this kind of theme must mean that there is some truth to this; and the author is using bateman, to comment on such materialism. however the author fails to understand why materialism to some degree in the business world is necessary.

keep it dude, you'll be glad you did. nothing like having a quality pen when you're a rich old bastard writing letters to the president
