considering how much you will use them do you really need some super expensive sticks (S7's, Bent's, JJ's, Bro's, DPS, Praxis, whatever)
You can get similar skis from smaller companies for a fraction of the cost. Similar dimensions and so on.
You can rent powder skis for $20-30 a day, and if you are buying JJ's with bindings, thats $600 or so. You can rent nearly brand new skis many times with that kind of cash, and never have to lug them around.
Lastly when you are out west, having a 112mm width ski just feels right for the terrain. Big mountains, big skis. At times...like uh you know, getting on the lift, Its overkill, but you run across so much terrain that soon you'll be thinking you wish you got some even fatter skis.
