Worst spills you've experienced.

Yo guys I'm new to this site and I'm really not quite sure if someone already made a thread like this. Sorry, if they did, then I guess I'm just remaking it. Tell us about your worst spill or a bad one that you've seen at your park.

For me, I'd have to say it was when I was flying around a turn and my skis popped off. Apparently I tumbled about 30 ft and rolled, but I honestly only remember sliding on my back for 5 ft. That was bad.

Went deep/overshot COC's 3rd jump in the big line (the last year they had the 3rd). Thanks to it being in the morning and freshly groomed, some luck, and a good fall; no major injuries, just what I would call a minor concussion (slight dizziness and headeache for the day), my knees and body were sore as fuck and broke both tracks in my bidings. All and all I was off skis for 3 days and it took 2 weeks to feel near 100 percent with some soreness.

my worst spill was this season at Treble cone in Wanaka, New Zealand. it had been soft snow for the pass two days or so, then i got real cold and the snow hardened up. there was a back country booter built, no big at all, so i thought id hit it, did a lil 3 with a mute and landed on this hard cruddy snow and fall over and rag dolled for about 35 metres, and ended up tearing my medial ligament in my right knee, and its still screwed up!!! was not a happy camper!! put me out for like two weeks, doc told me at least 6 weeks! thats probly why it still screwed up!!! lol

you can use the searchbar up top mangg.

i wont be a dick like other people. haha i made this thread like 2 weeks ago tho lol

Nothing epic, but I gave myself a minor concussion after catching my inside edge on a 4ft raised box. I did a cartwheel ofk of the box and the right side of my face imparcted the hardpack first. I had a helmet, but didin't help. I had a nice shiner on my right eye though. Was definitely done for the day and it was a good lesson on why to detune my skis underfoot.

Nutted myself on an urban rail everyone else could touch the ground for (I'm shorter than my friends).

Literally the worst pain you can imagine.

hmmm...probably when i broke my collarbone off a 2 ft booter trying to do a frontflip but fucking up and only getting 2/3 rotation. or that time when it was still broken, hitting urban, just nutted myself horrendously, next hit had the worst tumble down the flight of stairs after catchin my edge on a really rusty patch on the rail, worsening the break. i'm an idiot.

i was hitting a little lip on a trail, and there was a snowgun blowing on the lip itself... i took off in the superman position and landed on my stomach, it hurt like a mother, my pants went down to my ankles along with my undies, it hurt, i mooned everyone

last season. popped too hard in the pipe. fell like 20 feet to flat, on my face. not enjoyable

two seasons ago. I did a 5 and cased going switch. fell back and cracked my helmet on the landing. I ended up in the hospital really concussed. that was probably the worst crash i had.

In a hotel for a lacrosse tournament, threw back some jack and cokes, followed by a couple tall boys of keystone. Then hotboxed this bathroom with three other people for a full hour. We had a huge bag of mids and just kept topping the bowl. At one point i just slid to the floor. By the time i got back to the room i couldnt stand or lye down.

Puked everywhere.

misty 5 to face.... i guess actually half of a misty 5 to face. back in the day when i was like 10 i hit a 35' booter, undershot and broke my heel.

luckily never had anything to bad

i once overshot a jump started to lean back and managed to cuncss my selve for about a minute but thats probably the worst

on a flat gap down box, didnt make it to the down, knee hit right at the top of the 2nd box, broke my femur

i don't remember.... i mean, it happened, but i don't remember.

it was many years ago... 2001 i believe...

7:30pm on Sunday we took the chair to the top of the hill, where my buddy wanted to roll a joint and smoke it... he was taking too long and I became impatient so I said "fuck getting high, I'm going back to the park. I'll meet you down there." or something along those lines.

8am Tuesday morning my memory comes back and I'm in bed at home with a scared up face and a lot of confusion.

As for what I did, nobody saw... My buddy came down after getting high and saw me wandering around just after a jump after what seamed to be a complete yard sale of a crash. Ski patrol gave me oxygen, I get a ride to the hospital where they find out I got a pretty good concussion, send me home where I hang out in bed till my memory comes back to me Tuesday morning. Our best guess is that I tried to do a backflip, caught the nose's of my skis and slammed my face into the landing, giving me the concussion.

The other week on Breck's second knuckle i was doing a front flip... first time doing the trick on that feature... went way too fast, overrotated and overshot it to flat, on tele skis so just kept on going right to my face, broken nose and pretty bad concussion.

Four years ago during my first season, skiing around at night at good old Mountain High... really icy + poor coverage + noob = disaster. There were all of these snowboarders sitting the middle of the run in a line so I decided to go around the other side of the jump, caught an edge went off this little lip, caugh air, freaked out, I don't really know what happened, I got slammed into some trees and rocks and branches and things... minor concussion and black eye. I wasn't wearing a helmet, I was super lucky.

I also overshot a jump last year by a ways and wound up doing a knee to face so hard that I had a bite-mark welt on my knee for weeks and it was super swollen and my whole body was sore, but no blood/breaks/concussion. Again, I got lucky.

I landed on my head hitting a glacier booter a couple summers ago and broke my back. People said I slid a couple hundred feet screaming about my back the entire way, but I don't remember anything between taking off and sliding to a stop at the bottom of the outrun. It's kinda strange how the mind blocks out the immediate aftermath of a bad crash.

But the worst spill I've taken happened when I caught a edge at the top of a cliff band that I was getting ready to drop, and I fell and slid over the edge onto rocks fifteen feet below. One of the rocks I landed on split the back part of my helmet completely in half, and the back of my jacket got shredded, but fortunately I didn't break any ribs or my spine. I hung that helmet on my wall over my desk after that crash.

back in 02 i was a snowboarder. I did a 360 over a 30footer and landed on my nose, i came down on my elbow and broke the cap of my elbow off now i have pins in there. and now I ski.

the craziest thing i've seen in my park was a snowboarder and skier collide and the skiers pole went threw the scrotum of the snowboarder so it was like stuck there. It was so knarly. Then almost every skier in the park left their poles at the bottom for the rest of the day in respect lol.....

March 29th last season me and my dad went up to Spirit Mountain MN to ski, cause our home mountain had been closed. I was doing pretty good on everything, my dad was filming so i could put together a season edit, and so we actually got the crash on tape, i'll link it near then end. But anyways, I was tired of just pullin 3's off this 30 footer, and so i just say in my head like "screw it lets go for the seven" so i tuck hard, and for the right speed on this jump you needed to take two turns on your way down, i was too busy trying to pump myself up for the seven cause i hadn't done one in awhile. So I go off the jump, and overshoot the jump not to flat, but probably by about 20 feet and land on my side/back (on the video it's not too bad). But then i felt this crazy pain in my spine, and i was freaking out, cause i couldn't really move. Somebody had called the ski patrol, and they got me off the landing of the jump, and they said "you probably just have a bruised spine". So I was like alright, still with a tremendous amount of pain, and they offered to "cart" me down but i refused, it was the last day of the season. I skiied down the hill, bump over bump it would hurt my back, and i told my dad "I have to hit a box so i can mentally do stuff next season" go up, boardslide a box, crazy pain through my spine again. drive home, go to the ER cause it was hard to breath and still hurt a ton, and i ended up getting spinal compression fractures in four vertebre. it was crazy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLgyO9NMSp0 heres the fall. I actually don't know who "yelled" while i was in the air, if it was me i don't recall it, but i don't think it was me... Anyway, sorry for the long story, i didn't intend for it to be so long. haha

that really sucks. atleast it was at the end of the season, and you got it on film FTW. and it was pretty huge so +1 to that...

I broke my cheekbone and eye socket this summer at mt hood after overshooting a table.

cracked a couple ribs and 1 vertebrae in my back overshooting a bc jump onto flat (wasnt bad enough for crutches THANK GOD) trying my first cork 7 3 or 4 years back.

and this (which didn't really hurt badly at all):

Courtesy of Newschoolers.com

over shot a jump, cracked my jaw, broke both wrists, snapped 3 femurs, twisted my ribs, and sliced my spinal cord. 3 weeks later i was back

not the worst, but I broke my collar bone today in Dubai and we're going to france to ski right now, and yeah I cant ski.

The worst consequences, but not the worst crash/breakage.

still
