Worst ski movie

I hated the editing and some of the song choices in After Dark. It sucks because the skiing in it was overall pretty good. I might get some hate for this but I just found it very hard to sit through without fast forwarding through half of it.

Into the Mind wasn't the best either but I had fun watching it for some reason. I think it was just because I was more than slightly drunk though.

AD is an excellent movie, one of my all time favs. That's just your opinion on a couple details it's not actually a bad movie at all.

Revolver is the worst ski movie ever made. End thread.

I feel like Into the Mind followed this general flow

-Massive hype based on trailer and All.I.Can.

-Hype carried through to premiers

-after a few weeks, more realistic response, generally well liked, more people admit to not loving it

-street segment blows up even outside of skiing, no longer core

-a few big, well respected names decided to be honest with their opinions on it

-suddenly it became the movie to hate, gotta have the same thought process as core people or you aren't core enough to be core

-now its the worst movie of the decade

-core

yeah it did.

A mixture of All.I.Can, the trailer, and the absurd budget we always knew sherpas had meant we expected a masterpiece. What we got was an underskiied, overconceptualised, overedited, overtimelapsed, and boring artistic masterpiece that is definitely not a ski movie.

It's a shame, because some of the skiing is rad. Callum Pettit absolutely slayed, Kye Petersen killed it as well. The Bella Coola heli seg had some of the best lines I've ever seen, and that crash...

Back to the OP. I hated education of style. Sick skiing, but it feels wrong and is overedited. However, other than that I cant really think of any I hated. I rate all my movies in iTunes, none of them drop below three stars except into the mind (2), and EOS (1).

There are movies I didn't like as much, such as (controversially) Partly Cloudy. I know this is an unusual choice, because I know how much people here liked it. I agree that the skiing was insane, but I didn't like the old-cinema styling at all, in particular the intro. There were standout segs I could watch over and over (Will and Ahmet killed). I watched Refresh and PC back to back on a train journey a few days ago, and I remember thinking how much I preferred Refresh. The vibe is right, I don't really feel that in the much darker (although not stept-style dark) Partly Cloudy. However, if Partly Cloudy was the first ski movie I ever saw, I would immediately download more. It is still very good, just when I compare it to the movies I love most (Refresh, Being There, EDIAS) I just don't like it.

I still don't think it comes close to the worst big name film in a decade. Maybe the most disappointing for what we all expected, but when it came out everyone was all over it. I guess the band wagon turned around. I deffinatley don't love it and probably won't watch it again, but some of the cinematic work was impressive and the little skiing that made it into the movie was pretty stellar for the most part.

For me it might have to be We. We felt like the culmination of the fall of PBP, since the movies hadn't been close to the level they used to be. But We just felt like they made it to say they made a movie that year. Nothing stood out, the same Stept athletes that killed it in The 86 were boring in it, not that I blame them, It just felt like the most generic ski movie id ever seen. The only thing that was good was the reverse tranny landing feature, but even that wasn't as good as if say Level 1 would have filmed it. Felt like the pinnacle of mediocrity.

Into the mind definitly had a ton on hype but didnt follow up, but i think its kind of a good thing cause the next sherpas cinema movie will be the best movie ever made more skiing but with the insane cinematography and dope skiers, im excited for it

As for the teqhnical stuff i gotta say The Grand Bizzare. Over exposed footage, fucked up whitebalance, editing that don't make sense and poor sound editing. The skiing was sick, and that's why i still like this movie just for the pure skiporn. I haven't seen the education of style, but the trailer exposed some poor editing/colorgrading skills.

And Revolver.

Hate to break it to you but saw it the other day and it is flat out the worst movie I have seen in a long time. It doesn't even get any "So bad its good" points, it is just flat out bad

The abundance of attractive women barely even helps

I guess it was all the filler shots. Maybe I'm just into more skiporn-type movies. Either way, I still bought it to support level 1.

i can't tell you the worst, but the BEST i've seen are IDEA and Eye Trip. The education of style was pretty bad actually

In Revolver, I feel as though there are way too many powder segments and they all just drag on. Just my opinion.

I absolutely loved reading everyone's opinions and it seems for once we're all accepting each other's opinions and intelligently debating then rather than coming in and saying your opinions shit this is a better one. Well done NS. Threads for days

im not sure i can say a "worst" movie for me, i just remember the most disappointing. LSS was my favorite movie by light years when it came out, and then RealTime didnt really deliver what i expected. i recognize realtime as a stand alone good ski movie, but i was disappointed in the progress from LSS.
