It's honestly hilarious to see the ignorance of people when it comes to mainstream music. All of the people who say Lil' Wayne is the worst rapper are just as uneducated about hip-hop as those who claim he's the best. The only difference is they feel some empowerment by stating that they don't like him and instead probably claim to love Eminem because he's so lyrical. People need to learn to appreciate the talents that musicians do have rather than denouncing their flaws. I can't stand Lil Wayne but the obscurity of some of his word play and the individuality of his style are both undeniable. People also say Drake is awful but he's a great lyricist. "I'm ballin but there ain't no spheres in sight" "Like a broke ankle nigga i aint nothin to play wit" Again I'm not a fan of Drake but denying his lyrical talents only makes you ignorant, not to mention he also has some songs with some real meaning to em.
Sparknotes: Just because they're mainstream doesn't mean they're untalented. Take some time, listen, and then judge. Don't let your hipster ego consume you.
