Worst park you have ever been to

I'm curious as to what people have to say when it comes to the worst park they've ever skied. drop the name of the worst park you've shredded and why it was so bad.

Cabrefae Peaks in Cadillac Michigan. A couple rusky rails, a few falling apart boxes, and two jumps that look like the ones I built for my sled as a kid. Actually really like the hill outside of the park (for MI standards that is).

Mad river "mountain" Ohio. I'm ass for park but even I can spot dogshit like that. They have a lot of features but they don't maintain them and the jumps are constructed poorly (dangerous at times) to flat. I'm sure there's many way worse but they hype up their park like it's awesome when in reality it's mediocre.

Hard to call anything up here "the worst". We'ere all trying so hard with what we have, both time and resources. The "worst" was probably the most fun because of the people who were making the most out of it.

I guess you never seen a bad park. Its when management dont give a single fuck about having a park and will only have one built to legally advertise one.

The Whitewater park is pretty high on the shitty list. Rusty, 10ft long, 6inches high rails, 10 or 15 ft tabletop without a lip. Place is crawling with 1st time skiers because it beside a bunny hill run. Fuck, Ive built BC booters bigger than what they had to offer and they have to excuse to complain that there is no snow with a 30-40feet total annual snowfall and the place has been packed of rich tourists for the last 5 years.

Alpine Valley. Only composed of a few hitable features, this park (located in north eastern Ohio) is one Mountain Man "mmmhhm" at best. This past season, the park crew left the best comp rail on the hill overnight when the snow machines were blowin. Short story short, the only reason why I went to the park was now 6 ft under the snow for the rest of the season.

Lutsen, MN. They had some solid jumps and rails but the damn thing wasnt open and it looked mint.

I got to ride the setup there last year and it was a great time. The locals I met are crazy, no rope tow and a pretty long lift ride so they just hike that whole thing all day. The worst I have skied was Blackjack Michigan, was there a long time ago but I witnessed one of the gnarliest crashes I've seen due to poor jump design. Still a really fun spot to ski tho.

Was at kicking horse on a bad snow day and went to find their park, turns out the only thing resembling one was this line of like 4 “boxes” made of wood, barely slidable

Ski bowl midweek night park...... Don't get stuck in the bomb holes in the landing

Skibowl rope tow is the shit and Ill fight anyone that says otherwise

There are so many fairly large resorts with awesome terrain in interior BC with god awful terrain parks that are limited by boomer ski patrol and a volunteer park crew of all snowboarders bless there souls

Steven's Pass 2020.

they used to have the best park in the state. Now it's awkward, and dumb. Thanks, Vail. RIP TPC

Ok. I will foot in the mouth when you say that. The rope town is always a blast. Main park on multipor has had some really henious days

Lutsen in general confuses me. It’s a long ass drive from Minneapolis and expensive. Might as well get a cheap $60 flight on frontier to Denver.

It’s big and has good snow for Minnesota. But for park Elm or buck hill is just fine.

Tbh y’all complain about bad parks but I don’t think I’ve ever skied a park and not been able to find at least a couple features to have fun with.

but buck hill has always been consistently not fun.

I wouldn’t really call it a park. Im pretty sure the wood stuff is for bikes in the summer. I dont think they ever set up a park.

Some places don't try. Idk. A park with no resources and a few rails or some steel can have a sick park. One person can keep it like that without cat time. Jumps are tough. But there are a ton of places that don't try or gave no idea what they're doing.

And some of the really shot parks i went to were definitely not the most fun. Smaller mtns and small parks can be fun as hell but a poorly built park is what it is.

So full confession. I remember sneaking into a snowboard park on my ski boards. And getting yelled at. But I said I wasn't on skis......

Yeah I would hesitate to call it a park(not why you go to kh) just a randomly thrown together jib setup

And now snowboarders whine about not being able to ski Alta and Deer valley and that it infringes on their constitutional rights,

how things have changed......

I agree. I grew up in Minneapolis and come back every Christmas to ski.

We don’t have the elevation for amazing mountains, yet we produced Lindsey Vonn who trained at buck hill in Minnesota.

We have ski areas that only have a park with no lifts (elm creek). You make the best with what you have.

Even if the park is lame, it’s still practice.

Gore mountain.

Sometimes I'd like to go back there and try and make that park dope. Mtn is really great and I miss the place. Then I slap myself in the face and remember why I left.

Johara. What a friggin legend. Gore is a dope mountain. Such an epic layout. Favorite east coast mtn i can think of. Even on busy days lapping the quad to hit lies, chatimac(idk how to spell that anymore) etc. Also great tree skiing for sure.

The ski bowl psrk should get abandoned honestly. It takes too much to get iver there to maintain shit and unlesd things changed, nobody rides it. The pipe iver there isn't worth building, it's too flat and the inrun is litterally a scoop. You drop into a ditch and then come back up to the pipe lol shits pretty beat. Actually i dont think ive ridden since the other new lift went in so maybe its bumpin now.

But yeah, gore coukd have a god park but they dont seem to want to. I guess same with most places. There's really no excyse for not having at least a decent setup if jibs and an okay small jump or teo but mtns are like nah, fuck that, lets build sketch stuff

True, multipor park is always pretty garbage. They built a park on the paddle tow over there one year that I heard was pretty sick, but I was away at school that year and missed it. Can’t say Ive ever seen a skibowl pipe though and Ive been skiing there pretty consistently for the past 10 years. I can only imagine how janky that would be

It was pretty fun on the areana back in the day. Im a big supporter of pipe reboots. But that thing is shot. Wayyyy too flat, also they literally built the drop in from the dort in front of the pipe. Its not a drop in. Its just a roll in into a ditch and then up to a pipe that was cut about as heinously as possible. I actually got fired/quit while raking the pipe out by hand off the clock in 2008 to make it rideable.

They should have used that time/money to do earthwork for a small medium jumpline. A 2 junp line would have served that place way better. I love riding pipe but that thing was too shot to enjoy really.

Fuck it, i still miss gore.

I can't think of ski bowl ever having pipe. Timberline used to have winter one. But it would always fill up with snow. Meadows had the trench built one....

Cypress in Northvan, seen old videos of it looking pretty sick but stopped by for a bit and was kinda weird, idk if it was a bad year or something but it had a line of jumps that were very small but would shoot you to flat and a huge quarter pipe but no jumps over a smaller medium.
