Worst park in the U.S. contest

To start things off I would like to nominate Welch Village in MN. They have 3 small beginner rail features... No jumps. They also aren't maintained very well. Who can top that?

Bromont

For the last 4-5 years they had a sick park with 5-6 jumps from 15-60ft and they were getting better with rails every year. But they decided to close the big park and replace it by 6 small rail parks. No jumps (or nothing over 22ft long) some rails here and there. Fucking sucks.

Yeah. Also kind of a lame contest. It sucks when the mountain you ski isn't as good as what you want, but there's pretty much always somebody with a shittier mountain.

I grew up at a mountain with no park. Had shovels in my backpack. Would spend the first 3 or 4 hours of the day building some nice jumps off headwalls, then spend the rest of the day/night seching it. Cat would run them over, repeat all year every year.

If you don't like the park at your mountain, get a job on the park crew and try and make things better. The thing that sucks is WAYYYYY to often when that happens, the kids don't do anything.

Complain about park, get hired on crew, ski with friends and neglect park, nothing changes.

At least these days a lot of mountains are stepping up. I mean people are crying because there mountains have a couple lame rails and a small jump. Go back 15 years and that would have people stoked that their mountain build them something.

Just something to think about. Maybe try to talk to the management at your hill and let them know that there's a big interest in park skiing that they're missing out on.

Snow valley in ontario is pretty fucking brutal. Im sure there are some worse ones but that is the worst park i have ever ridden.

hvent been in a few years, but i remember thunder ridge, ny being pretty awful. they had a 100ft long hand dug half pipe which was no where near straight and the walls were dirt. for rails there was a couple shitty skate rails and a box made out of thumbtacks, and all the other features seemed like they came from a concrete salvage yard. there was a little concrete dome thing, about 2 ft across and 8 inches high, just sitting flat in the snow; a concrete pyramid, about 2 ft across and 2 ft high, flat in the snow; and a concrete flat box which hadnt been waxed or anything so if you tried to get on it would just remove your bases for you.

I would like to nominate snowbird. The jumps are tiny and the landings are way too steep compared to the lip; the rails are sticky and bent, for example: on the flat down box, there are no supports on the down part making it like a diving board, so any sort of disaster over the flat generally ends in disaster. But it doesn't matter cause why ski park if youre at the bird. Just sayin though

Try visiting whitecap in wisconsin. One flat rail, one small jump with a flat landing...., and an unfinished rainbow rail. When i say unfinished I mean no take off but that's how they keep it every year...

If I lived at either of these places, even if they had a park, I would never step foot in it. Why would you want to ski park here when you have some of the most epic mountains in North America?

We need pictures in this thread! Anyone can have a shitty park with a rail or two and a 10 foot jump with no landing. but you really need to have a dismal rusty deathtrap of a park to be in the runnings of "worst park in the us".

Yawgoo Valley. Boom i win. Loook it up. No park. Says there is one.. but they put one rail sometimes on a different trail...

Definitely should turn this thread into a "post pictures of the worst built features" thread. We all know we are lucky to have features, but the worst is when a park claims to be sick, but sets up the shittiest features ever.

agreed. The SHITTIEST park in the world. Never been to a place that literally has such a shitty park. Nothing is hittable and everything that is is concrete and you have to be a retard to hit concrete. Better off just not having any park there. But I only skied there for free after high school for ski team

yeah but by the end of the year they'll have that park near the peak with a solid 25-35 foot jump and a bunch of smaller ones, and the main park usually isn't all that bad

last year there was a flat box, a 15 ft jump alongside a 10 ft jump to barrel tap type thing, an up rail and a flat box farther to the right of those jumps, then the next hit was your choice of a pole jam, an unboe rail, a staircase with a urban down tube or urban down box, or another flat box

and even farther after that was a flat tube, a small flat rail, and a c box

definitely not the worst park i've ever hit.

I nominate Park City. Its 1 month into the season and we only have 2 parks open. And the park crew is constantly closing features pretending fix the lips but in reality they just want to make us miserable... Fk u PC

Damn that sucks man! And to think that my friends and I were bitching about November 17th being the opening day over here...

Just come out to Utah man! We have all of our good resorts open and pretty much all of the runs and lifts are open as of last week!

Mt. Ashland, Oregon.

Only 1 feature there is not a total bent out of shape piece of shit... the rest of it is all basically garbage because the cat drivers over the last few years would come to work wasted at 6am on a pow day and think it was a good idea to groom the park... running over the features (and damaging the cat in the process). The GM of the place is also a total racer prude who puts so little effort into establishing a decent park, yet is all about closing off runs for races every weekend...

... the mountain's pretty rad other than that though - for a small hill it's got some steeps and some of the most techy treelines ever.

Loon in NH has a pretty good park but all the park rangers are snowboarders. Not only are they dicks to all the skiiers but all the features they make are for snowboarding.
