Worst area to live and be a skiier

I grew up skiing winterplace WV. It was way fun to ski the runs on 600 vertical feet of slushy goodness. The park was bad though. The resorts are designed for church groups and families, so they cater to slow moving skiers.

I ski app now and they don't have much vertical, but they have a good park.

True... Except in Houston where theres 4 months straight of 95+. I got a backyard set up but its miserable to hit before 9 at night and even then its still hot as bawls.

Fuck man i was complaining that i only had wachusett like an hour from me in Sturbridge Massachusetts and ski sundown like an hour and a half....midwest sounds like it sucks balls

Big Bear sucks but Mt. Baldy does not. Neither does Mt. Waterman. Neither does Mammoth.

If you have the ability to get a ski lease at Mammoth, and the motivation to go a lot, Socal does not suck. It blows doors on living back east. I ski Mammoth usually 3 weekends a month, and Baldy every weekend I don't go to Mammoth. The last few years Baldy has gotten great snow. Last year I got in 43 days, with 30 of those at Mammoth. I know lots of other people in Socal who do what I do. Mammoth passes are only around 650$ if you are an MVP member.

You can get great skiing in socal, you just have to be willing to drive(and pay) for it. If you can't afford a Mammoth ski lease, that makes it a bit tougher. That being said, I know some guys from Hermosa who drive to Mammoth 3 weekends a month. They leave Saturday morning at 4 am, get a room at Motel 6 for one night, split 3 ways, and get in a lot of days that way. I'm glad I can afford a ski lease, it makes things much easier.

If you are willing to make the effort, you can have a great ski life and live in socal. Norcal is a bit easier, as Tahoe is closer, but Mammoth is one of the best mountains in the country. Socal is great, you just need to stay away from Big Bear/Mountain High/Scummit. If Baldy and Waterman have good years, you can ski quality terrain without going to Mammoth.

i live on the coast of NC and i drive up 4 and a half hours everyweek end and go ski the park with all my freinds and there is still a big really good park where i ski we almost never get pow and all the runs are always the same but the park changes every week so i go ski the park and its really fun and everyone up there is really good at park to so im not complaining

belgium, at least 8h drive to the alps, closest ski-able mountain range .....

an we have no government, a shitload of rain and our national pride is a fountain of a kid pissing ....

Y'ARR. COLLINGWOOD AREA WOULDNT BE THAT BAD.

MY LOCAL HILL IS 90FT VERT. 2 FLAT RAILS, 2 SMALL JUMPS, AND 2 FLAT BOXES.

Not too bad there actually went to morocco to the atlas mountains last summer met a guy who ski instructs there in the winter, there are even proper resorts. i would have it bad in the u.k in norfolk easily the flatest part except there is a dryslope with a jump and quarterpipe (speed is an issue though) and on thursday afternoons they put up rails.

this should have ended the conversation.... but I think prison would be more accurate. Jail is generally quite temporary.

Id say Estonia would be pretty bad (kelly sildaru) i think theres like one crappy ski center somewhere and not a single snowdome..

Netherlands or Denmark sound pretty shit too?
