The Punic Wars, even though at the time were considered the biggest wars that had ever happened, were miniscule in comparison with WW2 regarding casualty rates.
Also the Romans only obliterated Carthage in the Third Punic War, which had the lowest casualty rate of all the three wars. What I'm trying to say is the Punic Wars and WW2 are not comparable.
