So my dalbello rampages have some really worn out soles...I bought em used and they have been fine until last weekend...I couldn't stop releasing outta my bindings

so i go the shop and they tell me there is nothing they can do, the back is fixable but the front isn't...they said its a major safety issue and i need to new boots...now i JUST bought these last spring,I was even gonna get some intuitions for them

what should i do? because im not buying a 300 dollar boot...and im sure as hell not buying a shitty boot just so i can go through what i did all last season...right now im thinkin ill ride em until i break my fuckin leg, but i know if that day comes ill wish i didnt...what can I possibly do?

Dont quote me on this, but if the whole sole is worn down there is nothing you can do. but some boots, you can change the toe and heal piece that is held by the binding.

Im sure your shop knows this though, and probably wouldnt have told you you are out of luck unless you really were, or they are just ass heads looking to make a buck...

i think

if the toes can't be replaces (they are one piece) then there is nothing you can do man.

and if you refuse to buy $300 boots, well then why do you ski in the first place? depending on your size and ability, boots can range from $300 to $750. the $300 boots in my shop are the most basic boots, practically rental boots.

so if you and planning on getting new boots, start saving because you will most likely be spending more than $300 if you want some legit boots

yep its unfortunate but you are basically SOL.
I know i'm being captain foresight right now but next time if you are worried about maintaining you ski boots you might want to invest in a pair of cat tracks so that you don't wear them down while walking. I have heard of people doing fix it your selfs by attaching a new partial sole to the base themselves with rubber cement but i highly don't recommend it. From the sounds of it you are going to have to be buying a new set of boots or potentially risking yourself to some serious injury do to pre release.

Sorry man, you need a new set of boots. Putting on lifters won't actually help you since the sole is already too gone...

dont worry guys turns out i got some dalbello voodos for 40% off through pro deals since im a ski intructor...still bummed , but im stoked about the deal so whatever shit happens

A good shop will be able to grind the soles of the boots back to din standard. Prolly will cost $150-200 after you replace the back heel pads.

What, grind them back if they are worn out? I think you mean add extra materail to the base of the boots but unfortunatly this does not work for long so a new boot iit is, unfortunatly. You can technically get a shop to rebulid the boot but it will not work for long, just get a new boot.

They grind the boot flat, then will build on a new toe plate. It does work very well, I have done it to 4 diff pairs of boots. You just need to not be a lazy fuck and pick up your feet when u walk!

If you (or others reading the thread) have boots that need soles, you can buy em on ebay or depending on the brand, on www.skibootparts.com

Evo has krypton pro's on sale for $250....and if $300 is a stretch for you perhaps you should reconsider your ski habit / be more careful of gear
