World Series bets?

the jays have the firepower to be among the best in the league when it comes to scoring runs
but the pitching has me worried. when your ace is romero, you have to be concerned about your depth. he'd be in the 3-4 spot on most other teams. we've got a few good relievers, but no lights-out closer, so overall they're going to have to outscore teams to win.
either way though, top teams have everything. the clutch players, the young hot shots, the speed, the veteran fielders, and the pitching. every now and again you get a fluke team win it all with a lucky run, but for the most part, it's all about a complete team. and right now i'd say the yanks and philly have exactly that. props to philly, but fuck the yanks for having the power to buy out whoever the fuck they want (except maybe cliff lee, HAW HAW!!)

I think you're a bit down on Romero. Not many teams have a guy like Halladay/Felix at the top of their rotation. Our pitching depth is pretty strong. Romero is still only 26 and has improved the past 2 seasons, Morrow can be lights out and has the potential to be a true ace (see 17K 1 hitter vs. Rays), Cecil is a solid number 3, Litsch has looked pretty strong, not a bad back of the rotation guy, and Drabek could develop into a very good #2 starter... Not to mention the plethora of pitching depth in the minors.

Also, lights out closers are overrated; the jays pen is pretty good.

I think the team has a very good chance to win in the next 3-4 years. OF of Snider, Gose, Bautista. IF = Lawrie, Escobar or Hechavarria, Hill/Hech, Lind... JPA or D'Arnaud or Perez at catcher... Stewart, Drabek, Romero, Morrow, Wojo/Sanchez etc. in the rotation. Its looking promising.
