Hey so as some of you might know, I have been shooting a lot of weddings this summer. I have been working on this project for months so I would like some feedback.

Tim and Stacy from Mat Rich on Vimeo.

I will be re uploading shortly to fix a grading bug so If theres anything to change, I would like to find out soon!

Mostly tell me what you think!

Thanks guys!

I liked that a lot. My only suggestion would be to lighten up the shot where they're standing by the fence...probably a tokina shot. Looked a tad dark on my phone

I don't have much to offer in the way of feedback but that put a thorough smile on my face, good job!

awsome man, I love to hear that! also to the first comment, thanks for the feedback, those little things are noted and will be changed, I completely agree with you.

Awesome work man, a few things I thought of while watching it, feel free to take it or leave it

3:25-3:30 I had trouble hearing what he was saying, maybe turn down the background song a little while he is talking

Shot where you go in 2 circles around them in the field - I thought the second time you went around made the shot a little long

Did you use any of the bus shots twice? I thought I saw some of them more than once, not sure what you could do about it though

Dude, that was great. Awesome stuff.

The only thing I noticed is that your whitebalance wasn't super consistent throughout the edit. I don't know how much you can do in post with WB, but some shots were a little off (not too bothersome and probably unseen by the trained eye.)

Great stuff man! My only suggestion would be to fade out the car audio at the very beginning when Stacy begins talking and bring it back up again when you cut back to the bus stop. To me, it seems awkward and out of place to hear the cars passing while watching the shot of her speaking at the wedding.

That was ohmygod so amazing and I want you to shoot my wedding in like 10-15 years please? haha but seriously that was incredible. My favorite part was when the kids held up the picture frame to contain the couple. Cute as hell. Great work

Man, that was fucking excellent. I'm sure they're going to be blown away by it. I loved the shot of the father of the bride's face at about 2:23, great job for really capturing that.

Incredible!

My opinions, for what they’re worth:

I’m not sure how many you’ve done of these before but this is definitely professional quality.

Music choices were spot on, and it was a fantastic mix of shots to make it stand out from the stereotypical wedding video.

Loved the kids holding the picture frame and the camera motion.

6.00 was really well done.

Couple points:

There’s a change in grading t 2.19 when she comes down the stairs, not sure if that’s the one you were going to fix?

And I found it a bit strange that the pictures of them together were before the actual ceremony? I can understand the groomsmen/bridesmaid shots before the wedding, and I’m not sure if that’s the actual order things went on the day, but I always thought it was traditional for the groom to see the bride until she walks up the aisle. So that put me off a bit.

I’m not sure if that messes the whole thing up or not in your head, so sorry!

Anyway, hats off to you!

great work! really enjoyed watching that put a smile on my face! just wondering did they come to you with the idea of filming it like a story or was that your idea? very cool

thanks for your feedback, the grading bug is actually the reason why I asked for specific things to improve. I had to re export so I figured I might as well fix other things also.

I know what you mean about the images of them together before they get married. I hesitated about this a bit but decided to go with it for a few reasons. I looked at a lot of wedding videos and it seems a lot more common than I thought. Also, I see this video as more of a glorification or a dream state than a linear story like in a documentary form. Because of this, I decided it was ok to do so because it adds to the emotion.

To the person above, I came up with the concept to recapture the day they met. They wanted the video to talk about it, I evolved the idea into being an homage to the day.

Alright so the fixes have been made. I replaced the video file. So it should play with the new version.

Things fixed:

-intro audio: lowered her voice which clipped at the start

-brightened the fence shot

-fixed stairs glitch

-adjusted audio for tims speech

Thabks for all of your help guys!

Awesome work! looks like you put in solid effort on this! few bugs that you've seemed to notice already mentioned. other than that there were a few color grads that i didnt like in particular but you can't always please everyone! keep up the killer work! I've always thought about shooting weddings, you did a very impressive job!

Great job! I'm curious, did you have other people working with you? I feel like that would be quite the undertaking by yourself. Also, what was the time frame in which you did all your filming?

Yeah I did feel that the way you ordered your shots definitely added to the emotion, and I guess there is no reason for it to be in chronological order.

That was really really great, you've created something for them that they will really cherish for a long time.

Only suggestion is that a lot of those shots look just about 10% underexposed in the highlights, but the shadows look good and still maintain their information well. I would brighten up a lot of them in the highs and mids, or add a little contrast as well so that your shadows don't come up with them.

wow, that was really freaking awesome. I loved that. I saw a couple things, during the beginning I thought that the voices of the bridge were off, but that could've been me. Also most of the shots were underexposed, and during the ceremony, when the bridge and groom were talking I think that the voice sometimes peaked, try and lower the audio gain. And finally, you missed the groom's "I do"

Other than that, I thought that was a really amazing video.
