Does anyone work during the school year? Im going into junior year and am thinking about getting a job but dont know if its possible to juggle school work and a job.

if you mean junior year in HS all im going to do is laugh, so i wont answer that.
if you mean junior year in college then it depends on your schedule and work load. i dont have a job. mainly because i dont really need money. the other part is because i want to ski a lot.

I deff am not. But depends if you want to go to collage or university. If you do then you will get so much homework it is going to be too stressful to handle that and a job. But if you do get a job work like 2 days a week.

I'm a junior in highschool this year and i'm working weekdays after school as a lifeguard. I leave my fridays and weekends open for skiing and relaxation. My job has so much down time that its easy to get my homework and other shit done.

If it is college it depends on your field of study. I worked my butt off through college. Crammed all my classes into 2 full days and worked the other 3. Then I did side construction projects nights and weekends. Figured at one point I was working 60+ hours a week and schooling 30. I just wanted the degree and had the attitude that C's get degrees... I wouldn't recommend this though... Just saying it's possible.

I'm going to be a senior...I'm going to be working till about mid november and then I'll quit. From there on its alllllll skiing

unless you absolutely have to get a job in order to have money to stay in school i would not recommend it...you have the rest of your life to work...enjoy the time off while you can...

ive had a job since frshman year in high school. however, my work is closed december-april, so it works out perfectly for me

I think working 15 hours a week is actually really good, because it pays for pretty much everything that you need, and it isn't that much time. If you really think that being a junior in high school is a lot of work, and can't handle a job, then you are either working way to hard at school, or just think that 2 hours of homework a night is too much. High school is easy as hell, and if you can't manage that, and working, then you really can't manage your time well at all.

Get a job, but don't work over 20 hours a week. That will leave plenty of time to do everything else that you want to do.

i'm a senior at USC and have been working part time during the semesters since my sophomore year. and i still drive 300 miles to Mammoth every weekend during the season. just depends on how much you want/need money.

not a problem. senior year I worked at a ski shop, took 2 APs, the rest honors. I worked, partied, skiied twice a week at a place over an hour away, and maintained a 3.5 GPA. and all I did is fuck around in school. I was in yearbook so I had a yearbook pass, and I had 2 study halls so I'd just ball out for "yearbook business" and smoke weed, pull friends out of class for phony interviews, go drive around, and otherwise just mess around. I did practically no homework, and the only time I did any was while I was in class. I skipped school and cut class all the time and never got in trouble for it, except once when I got saturday school with all my friends and it was awesome. and I got a 4 on the gov and 5 on the lang AP tests, which got me out of some lame classes in college! I also founded the school ski club, hosted a few rail jams, and me and my friends took the remainder of our club treasury and spent it on weed and pizza at the end of the year! senior year kicked ass. I used my job money to buy tons of weed, new pants and jacket, baller sunglasses, new skis boots and bindings, and 2 longboards, as well as support myself.

end claim.

so yeah I say go for it. the only reason not to have a job in high school is sports.

Hahaha high school is such a joke, you can do whatever you want. I didn't do shit in high school, I took AP classes and played sports and still had tons of free time. But if you're in college it's different if your a science, math, or engineering major it will be fucking tough to work with a full class schedule, but lol if you're a business major it's like high school all over again from what I hear, being an engineer sucks :(

i will be a sophomore in high school, and hope to work weekends, and evenings at the golf course, shouldnt be a problem for ya dude

junior in highschool, and yeah i'm doing it. but i already told them it's on my own hours. so i make my own schedule aka no weekends and i can pretty much call off whenever for maximum skiing. it's badass.

junior in high school.. it would only be up to mid november i need to buy a new setup. they want me to work 4 days a week but im thinking only 2 or 1. shouldnt be that bad

come on dood, i had 2 jobs in my senior year in highschool,

1 at a ski shop that i worked everyday after school (mon-weds 3:00- 6:30, and thurs-fri 3:00 -9:30)

and my other one was at a tire shop every saturday, and that left sundays to ski. I still got 75 days in this season, so juggling 2 jobs and highschool should be no problem. and i graduated with a B+ average.

go for it yo

I'm in college... and i work a minimum of 20 hours a week. normally more. And still get good grades, ski a shit ton (4 or 5 days a week).

I'm a senior in high school and last year I worked as a lifeguard during the school year. I would work nights and it wasn't too hard to juggle with school. It's all in managing your time right. I would just do my homework before and sometimes during work

It is definetly managable. I worked during the school year last year when I was a sophomor, took AP US then and didn't get overworked, got a 4. I worked about 20-30 hours a week, went fine. I took saturday off and sunday off open-6, so I mostly worked nights but it worked.

Just make sure your job is easy enough that you can do homework there. And find a job where you can work nights. I work at a movie theatre and it is super easy. I unload trucks at walmart too but I don't know if I can keep that during the school year and stay awake during my classes.

That is my exaaaact plan too. I don't know how I'm going to do it with school, soccer, girlfriend, and pole vaulting though...

fo sho dude its not even that hard. i work like 10 hours a week in shorter shifts and leave the weekends for skiing and chillin

yeah its not to hard to juggle it, I worked ~15hrs/week during ski season last year and still was able to put in 75 days

exactly...i worked thru junior and senior years of hs, skied on the weekends, and still had time/money
