Woodward Copper Summer Hike Park (we have mt. hood at home)

Thinking this year I want to try and make it out to Copper (driving from MN) for their summer hike park to get my summer skiing fix this season. Aiming for some time in June, planning on sleeping in the car nearby Copper/at the walmart in Frisco for 3-4 days. Surprised I dont hear about more people going to it since it is a much more affordable summer skiing option than hood or momentum. I think last year they were open all the way to august, so hoping snow isnt an issue.

Any tips for car camping spots, ticket hook ups, other NSers/locals that are planning on being out there?

I think most people don't go from out of state because it's not that big of a setup, going to mount hood is usually more worth it because you're actually skiing and not hiking a 20ft tube.

the midwest kid in me is fine with hiking, especially if I get to ski in the summer. but makes sense why people dont really travel for it. I think I'll be able to make it a worthwhile little summer trip and get in some hiking and disc golf as well

Yup. It’s only open Friday-Sunday so just a heads up on that. U can car camp in the parking lot I’d image by the condos in center village as overnight parking isn’t a huge deal cuz of the condos. If u don’t wanna do that than there’s tons of spots to sleep in ur car in summit. The park was sick last year and they constantly were changing features up and apparently this season it’s going to be much bigger and last longer thru October.

didn’t realize just friday-sunday, i’ll probably drive out on a wednesday or thursday then. dope that they’re putting even more effort into it this year, it already looked pretty sick last year

I went last year, pretty fun for a couple days but definitely gets old just by nature of it being a hike park with rails only. Bring a bike or skateboard because you could also make a day out of hanging out in Frisco Adventure Park. Summit county is super dope in the summer you definitely won't get bored and its super beautiful.

From what I heard the hike park will open up on June 8(?), most likely Friday-Sunday like last year. Heard the setup is going to be a little bigger this year. (Last year there were 6ish features at a time).

There aren't really ticket hook ups unfortunately. Employees ski for free but that's about it, sometimes they don't check. Last year it was $25 a day. You may be able camp overnight at copper in the summer without anyone bothering you, but if not I'd suggest the Mayflower gulch trailhead a couple miles down Hwy-91.

I'm there most weekends, looking forward to it!

Hyped to hear its gonna be bigger and last longer. Was a awesome way to fill the summer ski void last year
