Wood Veneer

Most of those pictures don't do the wood any justice, but I would recommend Koa or Cocobolo (it's listed under rosewoods in there). Both have a fantastic grain, and Koa looks like incredible with the proper finish in the sun. Koa is probably my favorite of the two just because it pops more than Cocobolo. Here is a better picture of Koa with a great finish, the box itself is Koa and the design is obviously an assortment of different woods (the stars are actually real silver):

If you have any questions about wood crafting you can shoot me some PMs, I volunteer at a woodshop every week and I have been doing this stuff for years.

Ok thanks guys i really like the koa and the cocobolo.does anybody know the difference between flat cut and quarter cut (Smail, maybe you could help me out here),Thanks

You sure you can choose any wood you want?

you realize, as cool as it looks, it also need to be good for making a ski... ask Michael about that

yeah koa makes a sick veneer. personally i'd choose that, even tho its an endangered species. supposedly its sustainably harvested and all the money made from selling the wood is supposed to go to replanting new ones.

I have a guitar made out of zebra wood, its cheap but its beautiful.

You think zebra wood would work as a ski core? because that would be ballllllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

all these are just veneers, they are really skinny and go on top so it looks like that wood, it isn't actually part of the ski
