Wood core

Alright, i am 16 but small for my age. I am about 5 4" and weight about 115. Now where i go to get my skis said that i shouldn't buy adult skis because of wood core, but i think i weight enough to buy them. Should i go against what the guy said or should i listein to him?

wich model of skis wereyou going to buy???

wood skis are heavier but if you know hoew to ski them, weight shouldnt be a big problem

what is he reccomending for a core. id get wood no matter what unless your real tiny. foam is shit and tends to lose its liveliness. but if your small and def arent heavy enough to flex the ski properly then go with those and 151 is alittle short but as he said it all depends on your experience.

yeah, i went to ski market, and i said i wanted a good park ski, and that i ski like 40 park 60 outside the park, and i do rails too, and they have to be pretty durable

they recommended me K2 axis

My friends little brother who is 11 is going to ski 163 AR5's this year and he hasnt skiid since he was 5 (hes been snowboarding since) so def. get the 161's and the weight wont matter at all, once you get your feet under you and know what you are doing

hahaa same thing happened to me they told me to get a pair of fischers, i was sitting there liek, are you serious? i just walked out

I bet all the people on this thread couldn't tell the difference between wood and foam cores if they skiied two pairs of skis identical construction one milled foam/comp one wood. Try the Gun Lab if you think foam is always weak.

neither could you. you cant tell the difference when you are just skiing first day on brand new skis. foam becomes weaker with more use. but so does wood...just not half as fast. foam is a bad investment if your looking for durabilty and liveliness (pop) for a season or longer. if your rich fuck it and go by salomons. (and some rossis).

i will say that foam technology has greatly improved in the last year alone, and isnt "bad" but i wont ever buy a ski with a wood core.
