Women's Freestyle Boots?

Alrighty - I'm in a bit of a pickle.

Super stuck on a pair of womens freestyle ski boots. It seems to be a hard search.

The boyfriend isn't much help although a freestyle coach, doesn't seem to know womens boots :P

Ive been looking at dalbello and solomon boots, along with full tilt. After trying some on, the full tilts felt nice except were a bit too wide.

Others were fine for a ski boot i supposed. (used to ski for 8 years, switched to snowboarding for 9, 6 spent teaching/coaching) So i guess i'm not too sure on what i'm looking for since im used to boarding boots at this point.

I know general things to look for, aka: flex, width, tighness, comfort etc. but just need some assistance.

Took me forever to get park skis till someone finally said THOSE (solomon teneighty ten year ann. 151cm).

So lend me a helping hand? Im jumping into skiing again, but just gonna jump right into freestyle skiing and go for it head on. So i know I will need good boots. Im not a beginner skier, but im not an expert by any means.

Tl;Dr: Female.... skier (8yr) >> snowboarder (9yr) >> skier again and need good freestyle boots (not sure what to look at) HELP.

Sorry for wall of text..

If the boot fits you well, its comfortable on your foot and it flexes and supports you then there you go.

Its whatever feels best on your foot. Not sure about snowboarding boots but having too much wiggle room is bad, even if you are growing or whatever. If its comfy, right width, right flex, that should be your boot. It sees odd the fitter wouldn't have been able to find a boot in your width range. Did he measure how wide your foot was?

nah he only measured the length. and he sized me at a 23.5, which was odd since my mom has smaller feet yet her boots are a 24.5.

regardless, should i be able to feel the blood rush back into my foot after wearing a ski boot for like 10 min?

I cant get used to understanding how they should feel

Well that's a small error. He should have measured the width. I'd ask Tom P. For some more info. He knows just about everything for gear as he basically runs a shop in Whistler. He'll probly comment on your thread eventually

Why isn't you name pink??

some ladies prefer not to be pink.

But OP, if you'd like to be pink let us know and we can help out. Lady gabber would be super helpful as well speaking to other women about boots

I would go with the Full Tilt Soul Sister or the Rumor. I'm surprised you say their to wide. I find other boots like Salomon or Dalbello run wider, at least for me. I can be in my soul sisters all day though with no complaints. Hope that helps!

Make sure you ski a womens boot or if you choose mens , put a sole insert in to raise your heel . women are scientifically placed on their heels for when they become pregnant the balance isnt off kilter. On that note , you usually should mount your skis dead true center for that reason , Personally I mount my symmetrical skis a cm back from true .

I use fulltilt solesistahhhhhhhhs

The best boots are the ones that fit your feet, and since everyone has a foot uniquely shaped and sized to them, none of us can recommend you a boot. The best thing you can do is see a certified boot fitter at a dedicated ski shop. Listen to her/him and what they recommend for your specific foot anatomy. A good boot fitter will take measurements of your feet and do a shell check on any boot recommendation (they put your foot in the boot without the liner).

The shell check is really important because ski boot liners tend to be pretty thick and fluffy so they pack down a lot (flatten) after a dozen or so ski days. A boot that feels a bit too tight at first often ends up being the perfect level of comfortably snug after several ski days. It's important to have a tight (yet not painfully so) ski boot, extra movement in your boots is lost energy transmission and lost control. A mushy boot means you have to work twice as hard to get your skis to respond.

Freestyle boots are a myth, TomP and Onenerdy have talked about this over and over again on geartalk. There is no such thing as park boot, a boot that is great for all mountain has all the characteristics you need for the park as well. Find a boot that fits you best, and don't pay attention to how it is marketed.

appreciate all the wise words guys

I caved and finally bough a pair today. new 2014 full tilt rumors. got them pretty cheap which i'm happy with, just excited to get them in.

Since they have the heat moldable parts, will anyone who sells FT help me with that?

... have they shipped yet? :D

you can bring them into any ski shop really and they'll heat them up for you and then you just chill in them for a while. You can also put the liners in the oven at ~110 (F) then put them on the same way

If you bake your own - never go past 7 min. We cook ours in shop for ~4 1/2 to 5 dependent on the liner
