Hello!! I want to hear what you girls use for backcountry touring bibs, and your faves. Also, has anyone used baker bibs and if so how did they work/fit?
 
I've got the Trew Chariot bibs for touring but tend to wear them all the time. I'm a total klutz, so having the full drop seat is key to peeing without making a fool of myself - it even works days I'm touring in my harness! I also prefer the inside leg air vents because I don't accidentally get snow in them nearly as often (see previous comment about being a klutz).
 
TREW!! And they have huge sales on last year's stuff right now going out via email. I have the PRIMO bibs and they're my favorite ever. I'd recommend sizing up one size from your usual though. (At least I have hips / had to!))
 
So I’ve been hesitant about Trew just because I’ve heard a lot of questionable stuff about their waterproofing. Especially being an east coast skier (skiing in abrasive environments) that seems to kill the waterproofing pretty quick. What kind of experiences have you guys had?

I'm in BC's Coast Mountains (so not exactly known for being dry, and lots of bush wacky ski outs) and I've never had the pants soak through in the three seasons I've had them. I do re-treat them with Nikwash or Grangers a couple times a season.

I haven't heard about issues with Trew specifically with regards to waterproofing. It might be related to the recent shift away from fluorinated polymers (PFCs, PFAs, PFOAs, etc) due to them being environmentally damaging and carcinogenic? Basically no waterproof breathable fabrics are going to be as effective as the old ones because they were forced to stop using the old DWR treatments when the ban on C8s came into effect. I've definitely noticed that any waterproof layer I've bought in the past few years has been noticeably worse than those I purchased before the ban - that's just an unfortunate reality - but I haven't noticed by Trew bibs to work worse than others (although I'm also not rich enough to have many points of comparison).
