yeah.... i wish girls were up to the same level in sports... but they're not. i've skied about 30 days at stratton this season, and during that time, i've seen 2 girls actually go in the park and try to throw down. one of them is my sister. you can talk all you want about how girls should have the same opportunites, and how girls are progressing, but i have to ask you this.... where are all the girls? there IS equal opportunity in skiing for girls... any girl that wants to, can take a run for the terrain park.... nobody will stop them... it's not like football, or hockey, where it would be hard for girls to get involved. it's easy to get involved... the opportunity is right there in front of their faces... (just strap on your skis and go) but so many of them don't take it. it's just like the skateboarding example somebody mentioned... yeah, anybody is allowed in the skate park. just because you're the only girl there, doesn't mean that that's the way it has to be, or will always be. bring your friends for godsakes. bring them skiing too. you'll get no disrespect. i love it when i see girls ripping. my only criticism is that i don't see it enough... where are all the girls? you girls think you can rip? get out there and rip. nobody is gonna hold you back. thats the other thing i would like to mention.... nobody is holding you back... there's no reason in skiing why girls shouldn't be as good as guys... this isn't weightlifting. girls are just as capable as guys, so i think they should be held to the same standard, and also compete with guys. nobody is stopping sarah burke from being as good as tanner hall, except for sarah burke. let 'em compete, but let them compete with the guys. it will push them harder.
