With all these comps going under wont people finally realise....

comp skiing needs a legit structure. ive said this before: main tour, secondary tour, pro-junior tour. especially in the coming years when todays young guns are 25, absolutely killing it way more than 15 and 16 year olds (which isnt so much the case now, as this is such a new sport), it will cure so many issues our sport has.

with a more structured, streamlined set-up, there will be a much greater marketplace for sponsors and then this sport can progress in a good way. good for those who want to ski comps, good for companys who want exposure, meaning good for the overall sport, as they can really pump coin in the right direction.

all we need to do is look at two things: rollerblading and surfing. rollerblading suffered badly from not creating some form of structure, whereas surfing on the other hand, a culture which hated comps, adopted a competitive nature....it still left the door wide open for those who didnt like comps, but created a forward looking structure which ensured longevity.

the sooner skiing can realise this, the better off we all are - both comp and non-comp skiiers

or people could stop making a huge deal out of nothing because not that many comps are going under, they are being replaced and i think its stupid to worry about it that much. rollerblading failed because no one thought it was "cool".

Just because jon decided to stop his comp doesn't mean anything. And orage didn't feel like throwing down on a comp they don't make money out of. Jesus kid.

honestly why do you guys care so much about the big pic of our sport. most of us will keep on skiing reguardless of what happens.

yeah but its nice to see a sport you participate in go in a positive direction so there are more opportunities to do compete and film and grow as a sport

if skiing can go in the way of surfing with a WCT like structure then it's competitive future will be way more secure. i think the ski tour may have been a step in the right direction.

dude ski tour was really legit, lots of fun to go to the comp too! more stops need to be added for sure, possibly even add a best trick?? thatd be tight

how does Orage not make money out of it? I think it costs like $5000 to have a team in the event doesn't it? And that's how it is sponsoring any comp.... it's all about marketing.
