is it true that with a rockered ski you want to get it bigger than your normal ski?Normaly im 161, what size should i get if i get a rockered ski?

The article by Shane in this years Powder gear guide said it like this: For a full rockered ski, go 10 cm longer than normal, for a half rockered ski, go 5 cm longer, and for mini rocker stay the same length. So for Obsetheds (tip rocker) id say go at least 5 cm longer than normal. So if you usually ski a 161, a properly mounted 169 seth would probably be perfect.

ive seen a few of this kids posts lately and i dont know how creditable his words are. his information seems like it has been slightly off point but close enough to fool a noob.

obsethed has a tip and tail rocker, and yes you will be fine with a 169 like he said. mount it a little forward of core center, i suggest 2cm behind true center. it will be a little long on you but with the near center mount you should be able to handle them if you are a decent skier

so youre saying that i dont know what im talking about, but then backing up my recommendation?

169 obsethed should be fine, the rocker isn't too intense on them but it's definitely there so they'll ski shorter

False, I'll have to back up chazz on this. He got his #'s right and if McSchlonky the Godfather of rocker doesn't know it, then noone does. At your height, they may be a lot to handle, but if you're a strong skier and these are obviously pow skis, then you'll love them.

I never said they didnt. They just have no where near the rocker of a hellbent, therefore they are classified as a medium rockerer ski.

Sounds like you want an NS argument? Sorry, no can do. There's no question that McConkey said that and he knows his shit. Please reread my post and point out where I say they have no tail rocker? It just won't be as defined as in the hellbents. Enjoy your skis, and to the thread creator, go buy them.

"So for Obsetheds (tip rocker)"

while you never said they didnt have tail rocker, you never said they did while siting the tip rocker, why would you only site one of the rockers if you knew it had both tip and tail rocker.

and to other guy, i dont care for an argument im just saying that from what ive seen many of his posts are decent and the ends are usually correct, but the logic behind his answers seem to be somewhat skewed so im just trying to make sure people arent mislead. even if the end result of the advice is correct he should know the correct reason to why that result was reached

i believe i originally sited the Obsethed as a "half-rocker" ski or "medium-rocker" ski. This is compared to either a "full-rocker" ski or a "mini rocker" ski. No matter what rocker it has where, the obsethed is classified as a "medium rocker" ski due to its dimensions and placement of rocker, therefore for the original stated question, you would add around 5cm of length, or in this case about 8cm, to find the correct size.

im not talking about your half/medium/full rocker description. im talking about how the ski has tip and tail rocker instead of just tip rocker. while it still makes a difference
