its called Basic, as in there is a firmly established system that tells you mathametically the best move to make on any given combonation of cards, and those people who can keep track of shit like that can figure it out/learn it, and then do it and make $$$

Broke even at Blackjack.. wasn't too pleased after a fairly long stay, still had that itch... so after watching the dealer with horrible cards at Carribean Stud.. i put $100 on the table and played some hands..winning hands were pair of 3's, pair of 4's, A,K,Q and 2 pairs (kings and queens) with the dealer qualifying on all of them, i doubled that money pretty quickly was up $130, made a marginal loss on a hand and cashed in after doubling my money.

Thank you Lac Leamy in my 5 trips and have never walked out of there a loser... better to play safe when you're up - greed is your enemy.. the house banks on the fact that players will stick around eventually losing money - i never get in that position.
