Wintersteiger Patterns

I live and work at a shop in Utah, and our machine is almost always set to Powder medium, and its a fine general pattern for snow that stays cold and keeps its crystalline structure.

but I'm headed out to Lake Tahoe over christmas and I'm looking for a pattern thats going to be good for general use on Tahoe snow

yeah dog, I believe Powder medium is an 11mm/sec 60 ish degree cross cut on the stone, maybe its tricky to remember because Im not there now

I forget the actual names, most of the time I started with a stock structure and then modified it and saved it with some name I remember. I was a fan of a deep liner grind for use in domes. For Europe I used a medium cross hatch, or I seem to remember using the powder once or twice.

If you can get a load of old skis, structure them all differently and wax them together. See how the different structures work out on different snow days. That was one huge advantage of working in a dome, that we could go and test things out as much as we wanted.

I stick with a chevron on all my skis.

I REALLY want to play with one that can do two patterns. Cross hatch center with linear pattern along the edges. The closest I can get at the shop is adjusting the ceramic disc edger to grab some base putting a ghetto ass version of that grind on the base.

On our hannah montana snow challenge I usually just use a medium linear but in your case I'd go with a lightning bolt pattern like harry potter.

STFU noob. For your information I run one of 3 top of the line Montana snow challenge robotic tuners and yes there is a lightning bolt pattern you can use. Who are you?
