Winter so bad, it's attracted national attention...

Haha. Looks like bachelor's where you gotta go, dude.

...good news is Ashland did get about 4" of fresh over the course of today - my hope is that it stays up until next wednesday when its supposed to snow more.

...are you serious?

God Shaun White can suck my pubes. He's probably just gonna keep it all to himself and not let anyone else use it, since he's a loner bitch.

Cool man. I'm not sure what's going to happen. I need to ski. Maybe next Friday/Saterday we will try and make it. I still have your number, so as long as it's the same I'll hit you up.

As for the Shiest, it's a sad shiesty story.

Good god.

I was at kirkwood today for the airbag and they had one run open.

It was shit. I remember last year at this time, the moment team had a 60ft+ booter inbounds side country at kirkwood. Shit was nuts, and a bitch to find.

I guess we were due for a bad season at some point, but wow, this is mind-blowing. I didn't know Tahoe was in that rough of shape. The only upside to this poor snow season is that Tioga Pass is still open, meaning it's under four hours to Mammoth for me.

Yep. I just moved to Tahoe to ski squaw. I just bought some Chopsticks for all this snow too!! They are getting a ton of use!

Jokes aside- its so bad. I work in the snowboard/demo shop and we stopped sending out demo skis cause they were getting owned out there. I took 2 runs today- its like spring skiing out there. The little snow we have is going fast...

Mammoth has been pretty rough too recently, since the warm temps we had last week blocked doing any snowmaking to maintain what we have. Thankfully colder temps are back in the nights so should be able to refresh some runs where its needed badly (roller coaster for example (southpark) ). Parks are doing ok for now. Tryin to change stuff up and keep it somewhat fresh every few days.

i have a split shift tomorrow, and i don't even want to ride, it's too fucking warm out. how's the snow reporting going colleen?

It's pretty depressing. Pretty tired of reporting "there has been no new snowfall in the past 24 hours at the summit". I debating If I want to hike or ski after work today.

I work as a part time ski instructor/park builder at Mt. Ashland up here in Oregon. I ditched off to Bachelor for a few days because I had 4 days off on my schedule. I get the call while I'm on the lift from my boss telling me not to come into work until further notice, because they were shutting down until they actually received snow.

That's right. They shut down in fucking January. I have a feeling if they can't reopen within 2 weeks, they'll shut the operation down for the season, snow or not. I am going to throw up.

I am coming down to reno in just over a week from canada and was thinking of going to squaw but I just checked their website and they said they got 26'' all year. I'm assuming that is not a joke. I thought our winter was bad. My heart goes out to all you poor bastards if it's true. Can't imagine, still worth the time and money or no?

just bought my plane tickets to go back to the east coast for a couple weeks to chill with the fam since there's no snow.... there better be some when i get back!

I seriously can't believe how amazingly bad the conditions over there are, my girlfriend and I are flying over from Australia to Tahoe in 2 weeks and there's no snow meanwhile it's snowing in summer on some of the mountains here. Irony strikes again I guess. Fingers crossed for a massive dump in the next fortnmight.

...If anything at least you two will still be in Tahoe - which is a rad place to be no matter what season it is.
