I know I made this in Regionals but I wasn't getting any responses. Okay so my dad and I are going to Colorado this winter. We have a friend who is letting us stay with him so lodgin is all taken care of. I have never been down there (I'm from Alaska) so I was wondering when would be the best time to go? How much are lift tickets? What are some good runs? By the way I am an agressive skier I would say and mostly do clifs steep runs powder all mountain fast pace shit. Haha thanks guys! +k to anyone who helps!

it doesn't really matter when you go wp/mj is always super fun. that said they get a lot of snow in late november/december and a ton in the spring too cuz of how close it is to the divide. mary jane has a lot of fun trees and moguls and the cirque has some pretty fun decently steep chutes/couloirs after like a 15-20 min traverse

but if you're from alaska you should check out berthoud pass. really nice backcountry with hardly any hiking

these are my home mountains so feel free to hit me up with questions and have fun in the CO!

Ah man thank you! I can't wait to go but it's in so long... I'll be sure to check out Berthoud Pass and do some hiking around there. +k

-go in march if you have a choice.

-stay away from WP side unless you ski park

-you don't need a dark territory pass unless ur itching for big jumps

-follow locals on big pow days

-the cirque is only worth it if you know where to go and get a tow out, otherwise hiking berthoud is better

-eagle wind is prime, challenger is overrated

-tophers is dope, but too many people know about it know :(

-if you get a pow day, get to mary jane side super early, don't take a map with, and start exploring the woods. don't slow down and just go for it.

Pretty much already been said, but stay away from the winter park side unless you want park. Mary jane has the best trees, pillows, and steeps in summit county imop. Stay off trails and explore the trees, they're pretty much all good and its not too tough to find freshies days after a storm. If they're open the chutes right off challenger lift are super fun and have a few nice drops in em.
